  1. Thanks for the reply. May suffice for now, but would prefer a more convenient solution in the long term. Still trying to solve the issue.
  2. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/can help me, please? Lucky enough to get 2 of Google's 'out of stock' devices earlier than expected (please don't hold that against me, one is a present for someone else!) Plugged each of them in turn via USB lead to Windows 7 desktop...devices recognised as Nexus 4, but drivers fail to install with error message, 'device is unplugged', even when plugged in. Even if I try plugging in, in developer mode it goes into a continual loop of trying to install drivers, but failing. If I go into bootloader and plug in, WIndows 7 recognises the bootloader state and installs correct drivers for it. Deleted all the USB/registry keys to Android devices, tried again...still no luck. Tried installing drivers from PDAnet drivers, Android toolkit and mskip's rooting toolkit (from xda-developers), but still no luck. Uninstalled all Android drivers prior to trying each of these methods. Funny thing is, with mskip's toolkit, installed drivers onto XP laptop and device recognised under MTP with no issues. Problem with both devices and the fact that they both work under XP suggests it isn't a problem with the device, but my Windows 7 desktop? Kinda weird problem as never had any issues with Windows 7 not being able to find drivers before, and this is one of the latest devices there is. Tried LG website, no drivers for LG E960 (AKA Nexus 4). Annoying and time-wasting exercise, as having to transfer files via USB stick from desktop to laptop, then to Nexus 4. If anyone knows whether I need a specific driver or has any suggestions how to solve this problem, I'd really appreciate you posting your suggestions. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the replies. Have fiddled with every item in the network providers settings: 2G, 3G, manual versus auto network selection etc etc etc. In the phone status, although my numbers show up, the signal only lasts for about 5 minutes before it 'deregisters' or something and lose the signal. Strange problem I haven't come across before. Great little device, not sure if I'll find a solution to be able to use it though? Darned shame Any other suggestions, please do let me know. Thanks.
  4. Now I've managed to unlock my Orange branded OSF and flash the SwedishSpring rom, I've been trying out different UK SIM cards. Orange and T-Mobile work fine. Problem comes with 2 of the SIM cards I've tried from smaller networks: TalkMobile - use Vodafone network Tesco Mobile - use O2 network For first 5 minutes there is a weak signal and then signal is lost completely only to come back weakly very intermittently. Going into settings>network providers and trying to connect automatically to a network generates a message saying something like 'the network cannot register this SIM'. There is a list of the big networks (O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and 3) and trying to connect to the 'parent' network fails. The only thing in common with Talk Mobile and Tesco Mobile is that they 'piggyback' onto another network. There is no problem with the Orange and T-Mobile SIMs as I presume being in the list of providers means those SIMs connect without difficulty. The Talk Mobile and Tesco Mobile SIMs presumably try to connect to thier respective 'parent' network and fail once network recognises it isn't an O2 or Vodafone SIM? The Talk Mobile and Tesco Mobile SIMs work fine in other phones, so not quite sure what's going on. Technical support at Tesco were useless saying, you have unlocked your phone in a non-legitimate way, therefore you can't expect our SIM to work properly (despite the T-Mobile and Orange ones working OK!) I'm sure one of the tech/gurus/wizards here can provide more useful suggestions and help compared to the Tesco technical support department :) Look forward to hearing your thoughts and if anyone else has experienced similar problems and how they solved them. Thanks PS. same problem exists even with the original stock Orange ROM prior to flashing FroYo rom.

  6. Having read the various forum postings here and on xda site, I have a problem that I'm not managing to resolve regarding flashing my Gen 1 OSF with stock Orange 2.1 to a different rom. Hoping one of the gurus/techs/wizards here could help? Please? Here's what I did: 1. Rooted using Universal Androot including SuperUser 2. Used Rom Manager to flash ClockworkMod Recovery 3. Clicked on the backup current ROM button Here's what happened: 1. Device rebooted once, came to green android screen and booted up very quickly, no backup on SD card 2. Using Rom Manager, tried to reboot into recovery, get 'An error occured attempting to run privileged commands!' message 3. Using Rom Manager, tried to flash new rom from SD card, get 'An error occured attempting to run privileged commands!' message 4. Tried to do a factory reset, device reboots, gets to green android screen (probably fails to get into recovery mode), reboots again and loads up as normal. Unable to factory reset 5. Tried to reboot with volume- into recovery mode. As long as volume- pressed, endless cycle of rebooting to green android screen - presumably can't get into recovery mode. 6. Tried to reboot with volume+, device boots up normally, Can't get into fastboot 7. Tried Recovery Manager, but App won't load with 'The application Recovery Manager (process com.podtwo.RecoveryManager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close'. Keeps crashing and won't load. Now stuck with device I can't update the ROM on and can't restore to factory settings. Any suggestions as to how I could do either flash a new ROM or restore the stock ROM to factory settings, would be gratefully appreciated. Is there any software I could use to restore to factory settings? Is there any other way of flashing the Swedish Spring RLS5 ROM? Look forward to hearing your advice/comments/suggestions. Many thanks in advance (otherwise I'm forced to go back to my WinMo 6.1 device!) UPDATE: problem solved by flashing clockworkmod image file using recovery manager.
  7. Thanks - looking forward to the 'blackification' of my i900!
  8. Hi maczen, Could I ask where you got the black version of the OmniaLite keyboard please? Any chance of uploading the cab for the black version of this keyboard? Thank you
  9. Simple really :) In setting>connections>browser. set it to auto detection and 'pass thru' connection work. Strange, as never had to do it before with previous ROM. Anyone else found that the phone heats up a lot more with this ROM? :) Anyway, having difficulty flashing back to original MSHJ1 rom that I was used to. Tried following advice given here ROMS and following the advice exactly found in another post Official ROMS, but still getting incorrect version error when trying to flash official ROM. Any suggestions how to get back to official MSHJ1 ROM (is there a version that doesn't do the phone check like flashing custom ROMS?)? Thanks for your help and suugestions. Bricked the phone previously (MONAHANS error, yup!) using Grand Prix, so don't really want to try that again.
  10. That's the point: I don't want to connect via 'wireless' as data costs me money on my plan. Therefore, things that need internet access, I will connect via ActiveSync and use my PC's internet to 'pass thru' connection. Looks like I'm going to have to flash a different ROM. :)
  11. Thanks for the suggestion. Tried that and it doesn't work. It's not that I can't connect via GPRS or HSDPA (which is where changing providers comes in, so your own provider's settings get registered with the phone). It's that when docked to my PC I could previously use the PC's internet connection to connect to the internet, and wiht this ROM I can't. Fiddled with lots of settings, but still no good. :) Anyone managed to fic this, if they have this issue?
  12. Go into programs>tools>Favorite Hackings - lots of user configurable settings including the FingerMouse Still want to know how to use the 'pass thru' method of connecting to internet when my Omnia is docked to the PC :)
  13. Nice, fast ROM. Thank you. 1 problem I have and haven't been able to solve: With the default Samsung ROM, when connected via ActiveSync, I could connect my Omnia to use my internet connection on my PC, so weather programs updated when docked. In previous version of ActiveSync, it was known as 'pass thru' internet connection. Now with a clean installation of this ROM, no program that needs access to the internet works when docked (tried Google Maps, IE, SPB Weather). Is this glitch just something I'm experiencing? Or is this a glitch in the ROM? Anyone have any suggections? Solutions? Thank you in advance. :)
  14. yes, but if all the files are installed, left with very little remaining memory wish the files would just overwrite the originals and not take up any memory any suggestions, anyone? thanks
