  1. Hi, thanks for the tool and sharing :-) When merging bases and adding OEM I came across the need to weed out also duplicate modules/files this is something that your tool does as well - thanks :-) So in the context of checking to make things unique it is very handy! I will not be able to use that on a regular base (i.e. in the cooking workflow) as I have on purpose duplicate files in package directories. These have to be selected either/or and not together.
  2. complain at the ROM cook - the 2125 was a WM5 device and any WM6 firmware is a private compilation of components. You may want to try other WM6.x ROMs if you like to, just look up the xda developers "Tornado" forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=285
  3. It was on Xda-developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584764
  4. There is no magic way to recover a worn out Li battery. You can however use any other LiIon that fits the slot mechanically. I remember that someone stated some Blackberry batteries would work as well. Search the forum for this topic. If you can get paypal where you live then you can use any country for ebay afaik. The vendors deliver to the paypal address only.
  5. Google for the toolset "lokiwiz". It uses decryption tools from itsme and can unlock (SIM and CID) at least up to the Tornado. Despite the original name it is not limited to the wizard.
  6. If your phone behaves like this then the battery is dead for sure. Whenever the phone needs more current the voltage drops and the device shuts off. You will not be able to make calls or connect via WIFI either. I have setup a method to test your battery capacity - just look it up here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629348
  7. Despite it is really extremely easy to cook your own ROM with the kitchen, let me give you a head start with your old Tornado. I have cooked the default settings to a ROM and added all tools that you need to step from a stock Tornado to the cooked one in a single archive. This includes SIM Unlock and SuperCID with lokiwiz.bat - no need to pay anyone for this. ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/file/njm040ttoxm/...etCF_on_SD).exe Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...mp;postcount=18 Same thread for the Kitchen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...878#post5386878 Enjoy and give your Tornados a second life! Mine carries a 16GB class4 SDHC full of music :-)
  8. On the smartphone (Tornado WM6 cooked) it cannot switch the keyboard from digits to characters (or I have not found a way to do it actually). For the native 10b3 it is a long push of the * key - but no way to enter an URL in the mini5 :-(
  9. You can use gpsVP (free) http://code.google.com/p/gpsvp/ or GPSdash2 (cost) http://wimobi.com/gpsdash/files.sph2.php for this purpose. GPSdash2 states however: "The registration process for GPSdash is on hold for the moment. " So you may have to contact the developer for a license.
  10. If you never did a dis-assambly you should not start with the VOX. If you want to try, here are the basic steps from my memory: remove battery remove the 2 visible screws there - including the one covered with a black warranty mark. You need a Torx 0.6 for this now comes the delicate part - you need an old Credit Card or alike plastic tool, sturdy but not too hard (no metal). Insert it between the keyboard cover and the housing at the long side in the area of the screws. Once you are in, slide the card around to free the frame completely. It will be hard at the top of the phone where the camera is - do this part last. When all sides are free, then be careful when removing the back cover as the camera block is very tight in the cover. once the back cover is gone, remove the camera block - two more screws. One part is glued a little to the PBA - be careful when removing. Now you can remove the PBA which is not fixed anywhere but connected via a flex-cable with the other half of the device. Slide it half open and fix it in this position. The flex cable is "snapped in" in the socket on the PBA and to remove it for the first time you need to carefully lever it up from left to right with a plastic tool. Both sides are fixed/glued a little to little rubber blocks to the PBA. After it snapped off you can continue. Now you see the 4 little screws that hold the frame - remove them and take off the frame Now you have the Front part + slider with the flex cable coming out. Remove all 6 screws (2 different types) and remember where they have been. Same procedure for the front frame with the credit card, start at the SIM slot or the SD slot when inserting it. Open the SIM door and leave it open. Removing should be much easier than for the other frame. Be careful when removing the cover + slider to leave the flex cable intact. Now comes the last part: changing the LCD. I only did this once and it was quite some time back - so only one advice here for the flex connection of the LCD. To remove the cable you need to flip-up the little plastic lock that goes from left to right on the connector where the cable is inserted. This is very delicate - be careful! Hope I did not miss anything - Good Luck!
  11. This is an English forum - German posts may not be replied here. Look at www.mobilejoe.de or www.mobile2me.de for German replies.
  12. ...not surprising - it is a beta you are using. This writes a log file - just use the last released version which does not create a logfile.
  13. new update on XDA - can easily be cooked into own Tornado ROMs as well.
  14. Why can't the do-new exe files get the location of the installed programs from the stored shortcut at: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSPWORD and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSPXL Would be do easy and if the install CAB works consistently (also hacked ones, possibly) no further problems expected. I have hacked a _setup.xml myself to have Mobile Office installed where it should be (i.e. \Program Files or \Storage Card\Program Files), but the Do-New seems to work only if the office apps are located in \windows - sad :-( If anyone is interested, the _setup.xml is attached (along with told one). Don't ask me for the office apps or how to replace the _setup.xml in the cab file. MO_setup_XML.zip
