HSDPA with the Diamond on T-mobile WnW?

It was a couple of months ago in June.

HSDPA with the Diamond on T-mobile WnW?

Having an H displayed doesn't necessarily mean getting HSDPA speeds. Unless you're on the old-style W'n'W standard (i.e. pre-17/10/07) then the chances are, your speeds are being throttled or you're not truly connecting on HSDPA. For months, my phone was displaying an H and T-Mobile told me I had HSDPA even though I was only getting approx 300Kbit/sec in Central London when other people on Modaco were getting 1Mbit/sec. Eventually, it turned out that because I changed tariff when upgrading my phone, I had been placed on the post-17/10/07 version of W'n'W and hence I was getting slower speeds. After a whinge to Customer Relations (who were excellent), they put my back on the old version of the tariff and suddenly my speeds rocketed.

    HSDPA speeds

Finally got to the bottom of this. I managed to get put through to tech support who said they reset my HSDPA but after that, I was still only getting slow speeds. On phoning T-Mobile again, I finally spoke to someone who told me I definitely didn't have HSDPA on my account - even though everyone else who I had spoken to told me I did! He would only give me HSDPA if I upgraded to WnW Plus which I was unwilling to do as I had been on WnW since long before Oct 07 which was when the rules changed. It transpires that when I upgraded my phone in November, I also changed price plan which was the reason I didn't have HSDPA enabled (even though I was promised at the time that I wouldn't lose it). So despite my phone displaying an "H", the speeds were obviously being throttled somewhere. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I emailed Customer Relations who were excellent. Having explained the situation, they converted my talkplan to a pre-October version of it and within a few minutes, I was getting nearly 1 Mbit/sec. Thanks for everyone's help on this!

    HSDPA speeds

I'm on the lowest WnW too but having just called customer services, they tell me they're unable to disable/reenable HSDPA as it comes as standard on my talkplan (Flext 35 + WnW 12 months). They say the only way they'd be able to do it is move me to a different talk plan which doesn't have HSDPA as standard and then back again. Is this a case of having to just call a number of times before I speak to someone who is able to do this?!

    HSDPA speeds

No, I definitely won't have exceeded any fair use. I use my data for push email and a bit of web browsing but not a great deal more so I doubt my usage is even over 50-75megs a month.

    HSDPA speeds

Hi, I keep reading about people getting 700-1000Kb/s speeds on T-Mobile HSDPA but I seem to be only able to ever get as high as about 350. My Kaiser changes from 3G to H when I'm in the city so it looks as if HSDPA is enabled on my account (outside of the city, it remains on H permanently). I'm on the standard Web and Walk - would I get better throughput if I upgraded to the Web and Walk Plus? Thanks for any help! Ant.

    GPS has died

Just in case anyone else has the same problem, it does seem as if the problem was updating my phone with Schapp's 6.1 ROM. I updated the phone again, this time with Sleuth's 6.1 which also included a 6.1-only radio. This solved the problem and the GPS started working again.

    GPS has died

Seems as if this might have something to do with me flashing a 6.1 build to my phone as a few other people are having the same problem (see my thread on xda-developers.com: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365851)

    GPS has died

I've tried flashing different radios but no joy. Interestingly, the LED does flash orange but software doesn't seem to be able to connect to the GPS hardware.

    GPS has died

Hi, I've posted this on XDA-Developers already but haven't got anywhere so hoping someone here might be able to help. I've updated the ROM and radio on my Vario 3 a couple of times and have now discovered that my GPS isn't working. To try to fix this, I've reverted to old ROMs and radios, and also hard reset a few times but nothing seems to get the GPS going again. When I load up the GPS Tool and click open, no messages appear in the window at all. I seem to recall that when my GPS was working, messages would appear as soon as I clicked open, even if I was indoors and there was no chance of a signal getting through. Radios I've tried are: 1.27.12.11 (my original radio), 1.27.12.17 and 1.27.12.32. So it seems as if the GPS hardware is dead at the moment. Can someone suggest something that I can do to fix this? I can't believe flashing roms and radios could have killed it completely. Many thanks in advance!

    Vox on T-Mobile?

Not if you get 50% off line rental on the friends and family discount scheme  My mate doesn't work at T-Mobile any more so I can't sign up on a new contract and get the same discount.

    Vox on T-Mobile?

That's so annoying! Do you know if you can upgrade through one of these independents as I don't want to start a brand-new contract? Any recommendations as to which shop to use? Thanks!

    Vox on T-Mobile?

Does anyone know if the Vox is going to be coming to T-Mobile in the UK? My contract is up for renewal and I'd like to know whether I should hold on or plump for another phone.
  14. I connected my Wizard to our corporate Exchange server to test out the push email. The server enforced a new policy on my phone which automatically locks it after 15 minutes. Now that I've removed the partnership, I was hoping to remove the automatic lock but the checkbox is ghosted! Does anyone know a way of removing this lock?! Any help greatly appreciated! Edit: Hmmm, after a lot of fiddling, I've finally managed to remove it. Not quite sure how but at least it's gone...!
