  1. ok, got some experience with a couple of these finally... I tried the 4 pole plug but it doesn't work correctly - maybe I got a bad one, but it was free anyway so who cares. I ordered a 3 pole plug from ebay for less than 4.50 usd shipped that works perfect, except left and right channel is reversed so I just chose swapped stereo mode from tcpmp http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=290003924553 When the phone rings the sound comes through the headphones but the mic on the phone is turned off until the headphones are unplugged. Maybe there is a way to force the phone mic to be used when I get a call? Chad
  2. Thanks for the info. The problem I saw with the radio shack adapter I tried at the store is that its just too big. Sure it works, but its like 1.5" long sticking out the bottom of the phone. The right angle ones on ebay can be purchased for less than $5 including shipping in the US. They would be much better because they only stick out the phone about 1/2" or less. see this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A%3AIT&rd=1
  3. Can you try this mp3 just to be sure? It plays the left channel then the right channel. left_to_right.mp3
  4. On ebay you can get a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter for $5 w/ shipping in the US, but it only has 3 sections. The feedback sounds good, even on the adapters sold to 8125 or Faraday users. I know the 2125 has 4 sections on the headphone/mic unit that came with the phone. Check out some of the items sold by this person. Just click on "items for sale" link to see what is still available. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...id=ithought_inc So what happens to the audio? Is it true stereo or just the same signal going to both headphones? For $5 guess I shouldn't be so concerned but I would pay double or more to get real stereo sound. I had a chat with one of the guys who purchased one for his t-mobile sda one and he was happy with it, but didn't know if it was stereo or mono sound. He said he never thought about it, but it worked much better than one he purchased with 4 sections - here are his comments, "I bought the 4 section one from a different vendor. It only works if I pull it out a little bit a jiggle it. THe 3 section one from ithought_inc works great, I guess it is hard for me to tell whether it is true stereo or only mono, but the sound is good either way." Here the adapter for sale on ebay with 4 sections: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A%3AIT&rd=1 Any other recommended headphones with the right 2.5mm plug as part of the headphones? I don't want to pay $100+ for the shure headphones just for my cell phone. Any opinions or facts to share? Thanks, Chad
  5. summary: Qtec 8310 firmware 2.0.9.0 Windows dir is read-only I posted this to the incorrect "device specific" forum the other day and didn't get a reply, so better luck now... I've installed the Qtec 8310 firmware 2.0.9.0 on my US T-Mobile SDA and found Windows dir is read-only. I also tried the i-mate SP5m 2.0.8.0 firmware and it too had a read-only Windows dir. I've spent much time trying to find a FAQ or post to address this, but I give up. I wanted to remap some keys and I can't do that. I also tried to install the keylock from the link below but it would not install. Something about system permission not ok. http://maniac.fschreiner.de/component/opti...gid,5/Itemid,3/ So is there any way to unprotect the windows directory and other any other directories? Chad

Is there a fix for this issue yet? I don't know if the fix would be specific to the firmware, but I am using the qtec 2.0.9.0 firmware. Chad
