  1. Agreed. The "Treo tweaks" definitely make it much easier to use phone.
  2. Well, I figured it out. It turned out I DID have IIS configured correctly. The problem was my antivirus software, Avast Server Edition. Once I uninstalled it (disabling it didn't help), mail started flowing to my phone. Hopefully this will help someone else.
  3. My company is looking for a better way to communicate/get organized. We're a subcontractor for Lockheed-Martin who handle security-related stuff. Personally, I've used YaBB for my own family message boards, but I haven't been able to keep up with it lately. I know YaBB can do some cool stuff, but the Invision board looks great as well.
  4. Awesome. So the layout for the default will probably be much different than MoDaCo's layout. I will have to look into it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
  5. I love everything about the layout of this site. I would like to use this to setup a (non-phone related) forum. I can't see a credit to any particular forum (ubb, vbb, yabb, etc...), so I'm guessing someone here wrote it. Either way, I'd like to know. Also, can this style board run on a Windows IIS server? Thanks!!
  6. I've going over and over my server's setup in my head. I figured I'd mention my spam filter. It runs on a separate PC that receives mail on port 25, then sends filtered mail to the Exchange server. No change it could be causing the issue, is there? It's a Windows XP box running NoSpamToday!, which in turn runs several filters, to include SpamAssassin.
  7. Thanks for the tip. I'd like to get it working over port 80 first, then I'll worry about the certificate. Thanks for the link. I think it's the only one out there I haven't read yet! :) As for any updates, all I can say is I tried setting up sync with several different user accounts. Each time I got the same thing: folder list pulled down, the number of emails/calendar items/tasks/contacts to be sync'd showed up, but nothing ever comes down to the phone. The exact same thing happens in the emulator.
  8. ....and have you ever brought back a device to the store asking them to fix it? Pretty pointless. I called tech support today and made sure it wasn't an account issue. It has something to do with the phone. Like I said, I really want to like this phone. It has most everything I need/want in a phone, so I'm determined to find solutions to the problems I'm having.
  9. Is this not something they considered when they made the phone? If I talk on the phone without earpiece or speakerphone (actually holding it up to my ear.... God forbid), by the time I'm off the phone there are 15 million programs opened up. It would be pretty freaking easy to have the device lock the screen out when you're not using an earpiece or the speakerphone. For those few times you might need to tell someone to hold on and look up a contact, the could simply be programmed to wake up when you hit the center button, much in the same way it does when the screen goes dark. Oh yeah, this happens with WM5 and WM6. Has anyone found a good solution for this?
  10. Not taken the wrong way. In fact, all the problems I've had with the phone have been with both WM5 and WM6. The other major issue I'm having, is if I talk on the phone without earpiece or speakerphone (actually holding it up to my ear.... God forbid), by the time I'm off the phone there are 15 million programs opened up. Is this not something they considered when they made the phone? It would be pretty damn easy to have the device lock the screen out when you're not using an earpiece or the speakerphone. 11. Just finished checking all the folders. No SSL required. And to think I was getting excited for a minute there..... Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, OMA works just fine (w/o SSL).
  12. I certainly haven't gone through each and every folder and vdirectory, but I did check the usual suspects (Exchange, OMA, etc...). I will check again right now. I have always used a self-signed certificate w/o issue. It's not working for WM6 (no surprise, I read about others having the problem). I also tried using a certificate from Comodo, and then using the "makecab" command to change it to a .cab file. I think put it on my website so I could install it using PIE. No luck. Still won't sync. I figured I would take care of the sync issue first, then go through Godaddy to get an SSL cert later.
  13. Ok, I just figured out if I compose an email, it will send when I hit the "sync" button. However, I'm still getting no contacts, no email, no calendar information, and no tasks downloaded. The folder list IS however showing up (see attachment). This doesn't make any sense...
  14. @andy The WM6 emulator is sweet, but I can't get a working connection. I've resolved the issue of not being able to bind the emulator to my laptop's NIC, but as far as connecting goes, I don't know what to put in the WM6 settings to connect. Can you provide some insight?
  15. I installed the WM6 ROM and was pleased to find the Windows Live Messenger exe in the Windows directory of the device. I was able to sign in w/o issues, however, it wanted to sync my Messenger contacts with the contacts on my phone. I'm pretty sure I had no choice in the matter. Now they're comingling with my Outlook contacts, which I do not want. So I deleted them from the Contacts folder. The next time I started up WLM, lo and behold... all my Messenger contacts are gone as well! Is there any way around this happening? Luckily, I signed into the web-based Hotmail and my contacts were still there.
