  1. I've got a far more serious problem than that..... namely that I can no longer find the phone :D (must be in the house somewhere, don't know where) Time to follow that 6 month upgrade cycle mate
  2. Thanks, I've tried searching the forums but can't find a link to the kernel. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated. Cheers
  3. Unlocked and flashed Ice Armor III and must say I'm impressed.... a very big thank you to the OP BUT for some bizarre reason call quality has diminished to being virtually unusable :( Has anyone else got this problem or did I inadvertently flash a dodgy radio ? Many thanks in advance
  4. Thanks mate, that implies that I'll need to root it also :) Still a little confused as to which CM7 to go for... There seem to be a few different threads here and no official support from CM for this device. Just point me to 1 ROM and I'll be happy. Sorry for my noobness ;)
  5. Hi Chaps, I'm running an OMC with the stock firmware from Orange... I was wondering if one you kind souls would give me a headstart. Couple of questions 1 - What's the most stable ROM - CM9 looks unstable so I'll probably be looking at a CM7 2- Flashing procedure in a very brief nutshell eg Step 1 - Unlock (mandatory y/n) Step 2 - Superboot - root access (I would assume this is mandatory ;) ) Step 3 - Install ClockworkMod Recovery (I would assume this is mandatory ;) ) Step 4 - Flash radios ? Step 5 - Flash CMn as per normal. Am I on the right track ? Cheers
  6. Finally got it via unpack-bootimg.pl I really don't understand why unyaffs doesn't work for me  Cheers
  7. Thanks mate, Unfortunately it contains the exact same unyaffs version which I've built on both linux and windows but still get the same error message on both windows and linux 'broken image file' Frustrating
  8. Hi, Do you or anyone else happen to know how I can extract boot.img ? I'd like to inspect init.rc and make some modifications myself  Many thanks in advance
  9. This is the one thing that is bugging me with android. Twidroid does not embed gps location in EXIF metadata. Still looking for decent apps :-o The best I've used is locr for the windows mobile and it was damn quick and reliable. Snap a photo and directly upload to locr where it gets maps automatically. My server would monitor my RSS stream and push my new photo out to social streams. Perfect ! I want something similar for my HTC Hero :D Even if it means emailing the photo, that's fine
  10. I now use both ... Task Killer has a quick way to 'kill all'.
  11. I second that ... taskiller is a must have. Are there any other good task managers ?
  12. Yep and no one else pointed it out to me ! :)
  13. I saw a youtube video where the screen lock was an app where you have a series of dots that you connect in order to unlock the phone... Very cool - Anyone know what this app is ? I'll must has !
  14. Love mine too, decided to keep it :) Excellent phone ... BARD batterylife going to keep the tytn ii on standby.
