  1. Actually PinoyPocketPC knew about the launch way before the units actually arrived. The international and local press releases were released as early as February 14 too... which was supposed to have been at the PinoyPocketPC Mobility Event... which of course got pushed to March 7 because of the 3GSM Congress... and other factors... As for the website, well, they did a complete change in the look. Something which was definitely needed... Hopefully now it's more user friendly and quicker to load. Feel free to include all the sites... Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr)
  2. For those who would want to see the O2 Smartphone in the Philippines, please help out and answer the survey form. http://www.myo2smartphone.com/smartphone/t...plate/Survey.vm I've seen the O2 Smartphone and it would be nice to see another Smartpone in the Philippine market. The local distributors are hoping for a positive feedback which may as well be a reassurance that we will see another smartphone here soon. 8) Mabuhay ~ Carlo Ma. 3. I think it is not really a question as to which service you use... SMART or Globe, but if you are really interested in the features of the SAP and how it can really be used in the corporate world, then SMART Communications is the perfect match for the SMART Amazing Phone. The SMART Amazing Phone comes with ActionEngine and ActionBackup. Now has anyone here actaully tried running ActionEngine on a SIM other than SMART's? How about the MMIS solution for corporate accounts offered by SMART? How about the OTA updates? and OTA synchronization? Obviously you won't be able to use a personalized SMART Money card's added features if you are not using a SMART SIM... (which, BTW, I'm reviewing for www.ppcw.net) How about the triple DES ecrypted text messaging offered by SMART? I guess the question should be... What can you do with a SMART Amazing Phone when used on a SMART network... are you losing much if you use it on a different network? Something to think about... Mabuhay ~ Carlo Ma. 5. Well, the old SMART Gold Consumable plans are equally as good. I've had mine for several years and it works the same way... BTW, mine is plan 3000... which most of it gets used for data calls anyway. :) Mabuhay ~ ppcsurfr Carlo Ma. 13. No problem. BTW, if the Mitac Mio 8380 is indeed going to be launched locally... then expect a first hand report of it from our mailing list... and hopefully we get the guys from SUN Cellular to sponsor another PinoyPocketPC Mobility Event... just like the one we had last Friday where a Qtek 1010 (O2 XDA)was raffled off to the members... Carlo Ma. 14. Hi Mar, You shouldn't really worry too much about it. First of all, the news about SMART being the first country in Asia to have the Tanager is a good thing... and it has been in the international news as early as right after the February 14, 2003 launch. Have a little more trust in fellow Filipinos... Don't snub the local efforts too... Go and check Google and see what actually shows up. BTW, try searching through www.infosync.no and www.ppcw.net... you will see it will yield great results... specially the latter. ;) As for the Microsoft site :?: :?: :?: Try www.microsoft.com/philippines/mobile Let me know what you find there okay? Cheers, Carlo Ma. 17. SMART has been working closely with MS on the SMART Amazing Phone even before the release. It just so happened that Redmond didn't know that SMART was able to push through with the launch. From my sources, MS Redmond was surprised... and did not in anyway snub SMART Communications. MS Singapore was working with SMART Communcations on this one. Carlo Ma. 18. Okay... would anyone know if the Inbox database or the Inbox system of the SMP2002 is similar to that opf the Pocket PC? This "-1" Unread Messages appears on Pocket PCs too... but there is a fix for this one already... would anyone want to try if this will work for the SMP2002 too??? http://www.ppcw.net/index.php?itemid=1161 ppcsurfr
