  1. If you have rooted your phone, you can change the threshold preference if you follow my guide http://bryars.eu/2010/10/how-to-reduce-the...droid-warnings/
  2. This was a beautiful thread. I wish they'd all read this way.
  3. in the original firmware release there was a bug where you couldnt sign in to the google account if you had skipped it after a reset. Doing a reset to factory defaults and registering the google account with the initial wizard should fix this, or upgrading the firmware - which has other benefits too.

    alarm issues?

I had a problem with the alarm, and it turned out the alarm volume had set itself to 0, and its pretty non obvious how to find out what the alarm volume is set to, and to change it. Go into the alarm set up screen and then adjust the volume from within that screen with the side buttons and check its not at 0.
  5. I wonder if they've added a patch to stop it saying "Roaming Data - Connect ?" every time you go to on to their 2G network partners. Its quite annoying. They may also have disabled the Preference to set 2G only mode, they like doing that. Can anyone confirm either?
  6. I had thought it was just the network being crap, but now I've started to realise that my phone is showing missed calls without even ringing. There seems to be some processing lag in starting to ring, the phone definitely knows about the call as it starts to act on it, eg by stopping my music if i'm listening to it, and sometimes blinking the leds, but doesn't show the caller screen or ring for a lot lot longer. I didn't recall this being such a big issue before I upgraded to Modaco 3.0, from 2.8ish, and enabled apps2sd, but i cant blame these factors just yet without some testing.
  7. *135# Code didnt work for me. On 3 UK for what its worth. I believe that the MSISDN is stored in the USIM for convenience of reading it out but not used in the actual technical process of making/receiving calls. http://www.forensicswiki.org/wiki/SIM_Cards suggests this too. If you turn your phone on with a new sim card in an area without signal, it still manages to read/display the MSISDN
  8. I have the same issue. I think only a sim update from your operator can change this, or perhaps some extremely complicated hackery i don't know about.
  9. Yay, I have my name and email address burned into my phone now as the splash screen =] Hopefully I wont ever need to have done this.
  10. For the abysmal low light performance, i just learned about setting your contrast to -2 in the settings, in addition to the iso 800, Makes a significant difference!
  11. Took me a couple of days to get my code from htccode, they emailed me it after the software came back unknown. Good customer service with their online chat. Other folks have similar success stories with these guys - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542425
  12. The My Touch is a htc magic, which is a different phone to the hero, not a particularly good move to flash the radio rom never mind firmware for the wrong phone. I wonder if there is a way to recover it with an HTC Serial cable plugged into the USB port. If you ever recover it, i'd be interested if you posted how you did it.
  13. I updated the tun.ko with this one which is built for the correct kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...amp;postcount=6
  14. Nice work, no luck with tun.ko module insmod: can't insert '/system/lib/modules/tun.ko': invalid module format
