    nvflash linux help

Hi , Im trying to sort out my vega by restoring stock rom and others from nvflash. The vega goes into recovery easily enough (back + power) , the linux computer will usually always see it an attempt to flash. It just fails constantly at different parts of the flash cycle. I've never had it finish , I've waited 60 mins sometimes. Left it between flashses for a couple of hours. Heres an example of whats happening: [email protected]:/home/adam/soft# ./nvflash --bct H5PS1G83EFR-S6C_V24_0625.bct --setbct --bl bootloader.bin --configfile flash.cfg --odmdata 0x0b0c0075 --create --go Nvflash started rcm version 0X20001 System Information: chip name: t20 chip id: 0x20 major: 1 minor: 3 chip sku: 0x8 chip uid: 0x1714118741df4597 macrovision: disabled hdcp: enabled sbk burned: false dk burned: false boot device: nand operating mode: 3 device config strap: 0 device config fuse: 0 sdram config strap: 0 sending file: H5PS1G83EFR-S6C_V24_0625.bct - 4080/4080 bytes sent H5PS1G83EFR-S6C_V24_0625.bct sent successfully odm data: 0xb0c0075 downloading bootloader -- load address: 0x108000 entry point: 0x108000 sending file: bootloader.bin | 941512/941512 bytes sent bootloader.bin sent successfully waiting for bootloader to initialize bootloader downloaded successfully setting device: 1 0 creating partition: BCT creating partition: PT creating partition: EBT creating partition: MSC creating partition: SOS creating partition: LNX creating partition: APP creating partition: CAC creating partition: USP creating partition: UDA Formatting partition 2 BCT please wait.. done! Anyone have any ideas? Im not fussed what software I run ( stock , modded , vegacomb or linux) Im thinking the NAND has bad blocks - is there a way to install android or ubuntu or something on the sd card and not boot from NAND at all? Or is there a way to get clockwork recovery installed using nvflash and install a rom from there? Thanks in advance.

Spotted on XDA: CM7 with HC Tablet tweaks

Keyboard was buggy as hell and totally ruined things. Soft touch icons were nice.

    Honeycomb 3.0

Seems like he is just another extension of the apple marketing machine.

    Linux on Vega (Ubuntu, meeGo)

"news on the kernel source before the end of the week." Good - was hoping they would stick to their word and release this month

Why doesnt Android close the door on apple!?

Google just want more people to use the internet - they are not that concerned about locking you in. More people - more ads - more money. It really is as simple as that. In googles view , the only reason for android is to stop another single company (like apple) controlling everything and then locking users out of google services. This is why android is released in open source form and devices such as the vega exist without needing googles permission. (Exceptions being the android market and other).

    Sorry - double post. Deleted.

Notion Ink 'Adam' tablet goes official.

Pixel Qi models already sold out :) I've got a vega - and the only major hardware problem is the screen (not thats its terrible - just room for improvement). So a better screen coupled with the revolutionary dual mode black + white stuff on the Adam - I was really interested in this device. The wikipedia page says they have their own Android 2.2 OS called eden. With the vega so hackable and the community skill in changing software Im not sure what to make of Eden. As this thing ins't even shipping yet and with no hard evidence of what its even vaguely like Im probably going to not bother pre ordering.

    google talk video

thanks for the reply. May give yahoo a try. Is that an app or using the web browser?

    Adobe Flash on the Vega

Hopefully this means a decent version of the flash player is on its way hopefully fixing some of the Audio / Video Sync issues we have been experiencing.

    google talk video

Hello all, I want to use the webcam on my vega. I'd love to use google talk , with the other party using the web based interface of google talk on a full laptop computer. Does fring let you do this? I've got a feeling fring only works with another fring install (which is limited to mobile devices) for video. Can anyone clarify please? AFAIK - skype does do video on android. What about sipdroid or something like that involving google voice? Or perhaps using google talk in voice mode then sending a URL which has a website that lets you video chat using flash? (Any example website compatible with vega please share)

    Bluetooth PAN client

There isnt a way AFAIK with the vega yet. Other custom roms for android phones have some command line software that will allow the android to connect to a bluetooth PAN. Once these tools are on the vega - then you maybe in luck. See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=666988

Ipad/Vega Owners - real world difference

Vs the ipad. The vega has a better web browser due to having flash. Now i know the apple crowd hate flash because steve jobs tells them to, but the fact remains that an awful lot of websites use it.
