  1. UPDATE: New shades of wood being added! Hello everyone; I've modified this existing iPhone "shelf" wallpaper extensively to fit Android's icon layout and resolution. Currently, there are only versions for WVGA (Droid, N1, Galaxy S) and HVGA (G1, Hero, Legend, Magic, etc) phones. IMPORTANT: If you're using ADW Launcher, go to ADWSettings, tap on System Preferences, and uncheck Wallpaper Hack. This fixes alignment. 4 Row wallpapers Oak: WVGA: http://i.imgur.com/EiD6i.jpg HVGA: http://i.imgur.com/ew60u.jpg Mahogany: WVGA: http://i.imgur.com/9hWql.jpg HVGA: Coming soon Teak: WVGA: http://i.imgur.com/93kmR.jpg HVGA: Coming soon 5 Row wallpapers Oak: WVGA: http://i.imgur.com/bvsvq.jpg HVGA: Coming soon Mahogany: WVGA: http://i.imgur.com/Lskn8.jpg HVGA: Coming soon Teak: WVGA: http://i.imgur.com/tSP0u.jpg HVGA: Coming soon I'm looking forward to creating more wallpapers in the future that utilize Android's homescreen in unique ways- stay tuned for more. Enjoy! Andrew
  2. If anyone's wondering how the smoothness improvements are possible- Through experimentation, I've discovered that rendered bitmaps are of reduced colour depth when scrolling from screen to screen. This reduces the load on the GPU, allowing for a smoother transition. However, I still question why Android 2.0+ suffers reduced fluidity where 1.5 performed so well on my Hero. Seems like a regression to me. Andrew
  3. Time to see what Froyo has in stock for us :)
  4. You might need to replace the build.prop in the system directory of the ROM with MoDaCo's. Andrew
  5. Hi Everyone; Unfortunately, I've run into some real life issues that have made it difficult to allocate time to developing this ROM. For now, if you want a fast vanilla 2.1 ROM with full hardware support, try out Vanillain (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656828). Hopefully I'll be able to work on this ROM in the future, but nprussel seems to have done a fine job removing the HTC bits from the Eris dump. Fortunately, HTC hasn't integrated sense into the core framework as much in their 2.1 ROM, making it easier to experience full vanilla. Hope to be developing again soon, Andrew :P
  6. Unfortunately, a huge problem lies in the core android framework. It's not possible to get full hardware support without HTC's libraries, yet HTC's libraries lie deep within their proprietary files- and are tied to sense. I'm experimenting with decompilation, but it looks like it'll take longer than expected, if possible at all. Sorry I couldn't bring more positive news :) Andrew
  7. Hi there! I looked into this a while back when I was starting my Vanilla Cupcake ROM. The widget itself is integrated into 1.6's settings.apk- with the right amount of java knowledge, one could easily merge the widget into the 1.5 settings.apk. EDIT: Didn't see shokka's response. Guess my response was a little bit unneeded, eh? :) Andrew
  8. I have a question- if I flash this ROM, will I be able to receive OTA updates from Google again? Andrew
  9. Don't worry- I'm still here. I'll be using my Hero for dev purposes, and my N1 as my personal phone :) Andrew
  10. I've just recently joined the Nexus One crowd too, with the release of the AT&T 3G version :) Best of luck to you in your Android endeavors! Andrew
  11. http://www.google.com/phone Just ordered mine :) Andrew EDIT: Oops, didn't see the other post. My bad ;)
  12. Attention all Android ROM Developers; With the recent influx of Eris 2.1 ports, I've noticed that many developers have not included Cyanogen's fantastic APNs list. It's very inclusive and saves tons of time for the user. Link: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/wiki/APNlist Happy Cooking! Andrew
