  1. Hmmm.. That's a problem for me as my firewall config depends on the MAC to allow access from wireless devices.. I might have to see if I can figure out what generates it.. and somehow hardcode it.
  2. I've installed davidevinavil's 7.27 tonight and can only find 2 major problems.. Tethering works fine the first time you try it (even if wifi has been in use), but if you end the tethering and reconnect to wifi, then try again.. it locks your phone up. (clean install, nothing but the rom after a full wipe) - Reproducible each time. Also.. It seems too change the WiFi MAC on every boot, which then causes my firewall to block access again! - this never used to happen with 7.24, so I think I will go back to that version for now and see what I can do about figuring out how to fix that on the newer version. Is there anything i could do to assist? (I'm no ROM expert but I know my way round linux and c)
  3. My head just exploded. What are you on about?
  4. Has anyone tried to use OpenVPN with this ROM recently? I get the following error in logcat: I/openvpn ( 1167): Note: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2) I'm not sure if it can fallback to an in-kernel module.. but it doesn't appear to do so as the connection drops.. Can anyone confirm if it works for them? edit: manually inserting the module seems to have worked.. I get a bit further but still cant connect.. however the TUN modules does exist (just in a different place to where the system is looking) Thanks, Sam
  5. edit.. they arent compatible with the CM7 kernel.. (certainly not without rebuilding it) E/libEGL ( 560): load_driver(/system/lib/egl/libGLES_android.so): Cannot load library: reloc_library[1311]: 559 cannot locate '_ZNK7android13GraphicBuffer17 getVerticalStrideEv'... 6. Never mind about the last two points, I hadn't turned on the 'root explorer' option in File Expert and I can use DiskUsage.

    But still unsure about:

    * Spinlets

    * Media Server

    * Acer Media

    * Acer Registration

    * Acer sync

    (what they do, can I delete them)

    Sorry to spam you like this!

  7. And finally; if I do find some .apks to move, how do I know when the system bit is getting full?

    Thank you :)

  8. Also, do I need Acer Registration and Acer sync for anything important, or can I get rid of them too?

    Using the app File Expert (like a free root explorer) I can see the system/app folder, but the data/ folder seems to be empty? I was going to take up your suggestion and move some things to system/app in the newly cleared space, but there doesn't seem to be anything to move?

  9. Hi,

    I'm trying to delete some Acer bloatware, using Titanium backup. When I uninstall system apps the apk files do get deleted from system/app so it is doing it properly!

    Just wondering whether I can delete the following, which you didn't mention in your post:

    * Spinlets

    * Media Server (what does it even do?)

    * Acer Media

  10. It's no more dangerous than on any other phone where it has been done.. I for one would love to see it happen.. problem is there don't seem to be enough ninja level hardware dev's for the LiquidMT.. I'm starting to think I bought the wrong device.. That's not to say that there is not a lot of great work by some very clever Dev's.. but I came over from a Blade where just about everything is possible and I miss that.. I was hoping the LiquidMT would turn out like an ARMv7 Blade.. we still dont have a source buildable CM for the LiquidMT! (although it sounds like the CM beta's private source is getting close)_
  11. I'm officially annoyed by this game/android market now.. It was listed as Compatible with the Liquid MT.. so I bought it.. and it works fine at 1.2ghz overclocked.. it lagged a little at 800mhz However I tried to play it this morning and its force closing on me... I checked the stack trace and its a missing library.. so I thought i'd reinstall... It's now listed as not compatible with my device.. so I cant re-download it if I remove it.. ARGHHHHH Is anyone else getting this problem?
  12. I've tried to decompile and recompile a few different boot.img nandroid backups or extracts from ROM zips.. and seem to have some serious problems.. I never end up with a file of the right size, and flashing all of them leads to boot loops. Ideally id like to be able to extract say the Acer boot.img from a nandroid.. compile my own kernel and repack it.. I think the problem is the tools I am using.. do I need some special ones for the Liquid MT ? Can anyone link me to the right version/tools to extract and repack LiquidMT Boot images.. (under linux if possible - but windows would be good too) Thanks, Sam
  13. I'm pretty sure that the Acer base ROMs do NOT include any CIQ stuff.. and no ones going to add it.. so you'll be fine, unless your carrier has added it.
  14. Yes i've just pulled out all the bits I wanted from a blade rom or some googling for AOSP zip's and merged them across.. i've broken a few things in the process so i'm slowly patching those up. I'm considering trying out the T&LMetal_AOSP build and putting my changes and apps in there as i've heard good things about it.. (basically I just shove all the google stuff and a few other things into /system since the partitions cant be resized)
