  1. Try looking in Settings-> Wireless and network->Mobile network->Access Point Names: should have a Vodafone Internet APN that is selected. If not, add it. Also Network mode should be GSM/WCDMA (auto mode).
  2. There are a bunch of similar topics on the xda forum. First take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776371 Other solutions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=800214 Best of luck
  3. You have to make sure that unde Settings->Wireless and network->Mobile networks you set the the Network Mode to "GSM/WCDMA (auto mode)" and have your operator's GPRS/3G settings selected in Access Point Names (e.g.: "Orange Internet"). You can add a new APN using the option menu (left button) with the settings from you operator if they aren't added automatically.
  4. No need for a double post :P To answer your question: No I don't have this issue (had the phone for over a month, with Eclair JM1 stock firmware, no lagfix) and I didn't hear about it on any of the other forums as well. As far as I know, when you go to Messages->Settings you can set a text message limit & mms limit per conversation (default is 200 for sms, 20 for mms). Maybe instead of deleting the old messages, when you reach that limit it wipes all messages !? (altough that would be stupid). Try increasing those limits for a change.
  5. Froyo version hasn't been released yet for all countries. Check your Kies from time to time to see if the the Froyo 2.2 JPM/JP6 is available, if you want to wait for the official release in your country, or download and use one of the roms available at XDA.
  6. Altough the back cover feels like cheap plastic, I believe it is pretty resistant. You can check the gorilla glass durability/scratch/drop test http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xASJobjD68.
  7. I got my Galaxy a week ago and am still on stock ROM (JM1). The problem you might encounter on Galaxy (let's say 50/50 chance) is to get a phone that doesn't support the 3br (3 button press to Recovery/Download Mode), but again easy fixable following the instructions here (you can even fix e-fused models following instructions here). Regarding lag I barely noticed it when doin some heavy multitasking, but it can be easily fixed as there are multiple solutions out there (best one AFAIK is Voodoo lag fix, which is at Beta 4, final version being worked on).
  8. Sorry misunderstood OP. I'm still on Eclair 2.1 build, so can't help you with Swype 2.0 (that's the version that's in Froyo AFAIK). Maybe other users will be kind enough to share it.
  9. Don't know if this will work on an unrooted phone, but the basic principle is this: Get a file manager (not the included one, as it only shows you the content of /sdcard/), like OI File Manager and go to /system/app/ There you should find Swype.apk. Please note that it's /system/ and not /sdcard/system/
  10. Most likely from this thread (kinda hard to miss when you're looking for a solution): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785201 I used it and now I can use the 3 button combo to enter Recovery or Download modes
  11. If you used the fix for the mail icon from http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=attach...st&id=43421, just replace the images Titanium_mail.png, voice.png, sms.png, call.png found in the \Windows\ folder. They should be 43x57px.
  12. I don't know where you got that code, but it isn't of any use. To change the USB connection settings, just go to Samsung Settings -> General Settings -> USB Connection.
  13. There is no limitation regarding the CSC, so you can choose whichever you want (personally I use the EU ones).
  14. All the drivers/software you need to flash under Windows (I'd recommend Windows XP, as it's the safest one) can be found here: Guide to Flashing Regarding the ROM you could use Official JG5, if you want a Windows Mobile 6.5 version, although I'd recommend you a 6.5.3 version which is more finger friendly, like Official JE3, or a custom one (usually faster than the TouchWiz interface). Safe flashing.
  15. You should post the link to the full-size image, otherwise people won't be able to understand anything from that thumbnail: http://s2.subirimagenes.com/otros/5045354error.jpg
