  1. I'm currently using Resurrection 8.3. , been using it for about a week now with very few issues. No FC's, a couple of random reboots (4 I think over the last week) It's based on 4.0.3 XXLP6. No touchwiz, uses the CM9 Trebuchet launcher. Runs smooth as glass. I'm actually just about to update to 8.4.
  2. I'm stumped, I can't get any a2sd or related script to work. My sd-ext keeps mounting only as readonly. I've tried using both Modaco and CM7, done complete wipes, formatted sd-ext and it still comes up in readonly. I've even shifted everything off of my sd card and repartitioned it to no avail. There's a lost+found folder on it, which, I think, means it's found file system errors on it (which is probably why its mounted readonly) also, I see this from a logcat at boot: I/mountsd ( 97): Checking filesystems.. I//system/xbin/run-parts( 73): e2fsck 1.41.10 (10-Feb-2009) I//system/xbin/run-parts( 73): /dev/block/mmcblk0p2: recovering journal I//system/xbin/run-parts( 73): /dev/block/mmcblk0p2: clean, 11/31252 files, 4019/125000 blocks I/logwrapper( 103): busybox terminated by exit(0) I/logwrapper( 109): busybox terminated by exit(0) I/logwrapper( 111): busybox terminated by exit(0)
  3. One tiny issue I have noticed which doesn't appear to have been mentioned is to do with portrait rotation. I've noticed, any app which forces portrait mode such as the Kindle app/Gscript/Connectbot/AdFree forces portrait mode upside down on the device What I mean by this is the the volume buttons are at the bottom when it like this. It's a bit annoying if you rest the bottom edge on a surface as I keep knocking the volume buttons, also it tends to slide out of my folio case when used like this :-) Fantastic ROM though, using it as my day to day, using Kindle for about 5 hours last night without a crash.
  4. Ahhh, you beauty... Thanks. Worked first time into recovery, now I can Nandroid and Flash. also works from ADB, and from ConnectBot.
  5. I'm very impressed with Beta1a, but I don't seem to be able to get it to boot into recovery in any way. I assume I have to NVFlash back to stock, install clockwork and then flash Beta3? Or is it possible top flash beta3 over the top of beta1a using ADB? I'm liking the Honeycomb UI very much indeed. The only real issue I have found is the the Amazon Kindle app autorotates to upside down vertical and sticks there (i.e. so the volume buttons are on bottom right. No biggie though.
  6. I keep seeing something similar with my ext partition for apps2SD. My phone keeps losing visibility of it and I have to reformat it. Then it will be OK for a whihle, but the next timee I do a nandroid backup, the ext partition becomes unreadable.
  7. Is there an updated link to this download? The download link above appears to be broken. edit: Stupid me, sho0uld have read the end of the thread. Two posts above there is an upfdated link. http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/02/clockw...very-image.html
  8. I'm having serious issues getting hold of the O2 RUU to flash a phone back to stock. I know the one I want, I can start the download, but it ALWAYS craps out before it is done, I've tried using IE and firefox, I've even tried using wget from a *nix command line, it always craps out at somepoint, even if it restarts the download with WGET, the resulting file is corrupt. http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/RUU_...4166_signed.exe is what I was trying to get, but it seems that any file I download from there has the same issue. Does someone happen to have one lying around for me to download. Not that bothered about the version to be honest, as long as it's a Froyo.
  9. I've been trying it for the last 24 hours. Seems pretty stable, but with some minor niggles. The inbuilt VOIP client isn't really worth a wank though. Lacks proper authentication options so you cannot make call son most commercial SIP systems.
  10. That's bullshit. I had a release Desire and unsurprisingly enough I had to pay the extra. It's a "get the extra cash out of you" scam pure and simple. He advertises ANY HTC unlocked for $20, then surprise surprise, says that he needs an extra $15 to unlock your phone, so you're left in the position of giving him more money to do something you have already paid for, or getting it refunded.
  11. I had the same issue with the site as well. says "$20 unlock all HTS phones" then when your code fails and you read the site it says you have to pay the extra $15 to actually get the code. He's a fraudster plain and simple and it has been going on for ages. I got my HTC Desire almost a year ago and tried to unlock it straight away. I made him give my money back. I did PM Paul making him aware, but never got a reply. As I got my money back, in the end I wasn't to bothered, but considering that Paul is effectively endorsing this "service", he really should make sure that it does what it advertises to do.
  12. So, with Pauls USB Host/Device switcher, I was thinking, could I use a USB to Serial lead and access devices on their console ports from the Vega. It'd mean I can stop lugging a massive laptop around to datacenters with me as I could access console devices from the vega.
  13. There's also now a firefox extension called FoxToPhone which uses the ChromeToPhone api, so you can have the same functionality in Firefox.
  14. You do realise who mankes the Nexus One right? It's made by HTC. Also, The Nexus One nearly obselete? I know technology advances quickly, but it's still a current gen smartphone. Things like the DroidX are no more advanced, they just generally have better cameras or keyboards etc.
  15. Same here. Can't be arsed with a case or screen protector. Ever since I saw the video of a guy going mental on the screen with his keys to show how tough it is.
  16. As far as I can tell, Titanium only restores settings to exactly the same version of app (even system apps). For instance when I was bouncing between stock, Pauls Desire Rom, and Cyanogen, I would get multiple backups for certain things like contact settings and such, all listed with the exact versions for each ROM and they would only restore to the ROM they were meant for. WiFi AP's always seemed to re-install across all roms. If I ever wiped all I did was a batch restore all and it only restores the applicable stuff.
  17. A fix for bluetooth won't be done until there is a new ROM based on the source that HTC has released. This has been stated many times in this thread (IIRC including by paul himself) From my experience with it. Bluetooth does actually work, it's just a little picky, you just have to make sure that the phone connects to the device and the device doesn't try to connect to the phone. For instance, my car stereo support bluetooth headset and speakers, I pair my phone with the stereo and play music through it. If I start the car with bluetooth already enabled on the phone, the stereo powers up and then tries to connect to its currently paired device (i.e the phone). If it does this BT will never connect, it's like the connection request from the stereo gets caught up somewhere in the BT stack and stops anything else from getting through. However, if bluetooth is disabled on the phone when i start the car, the stereo searches for its paired device and doesn't find it. If I then turn bluetooth on and let the phone hunt for paired devices in range 9 times out of 10 it will connect up straight away. Also, if I get an incomming call, it doesn't switch directly to the bluetooth headset, I have to manually select BT headset, but if I make a call it automatically goes to the headset. If all else fails, power cycling the phone usually clears the BT stack out of whatever is hanging it up and it'll connect first time.
  18. I noticed one thing with this ROM. When using my car dock in landscape mode, it actually rotates the home screens into landscape as well, I'm wondering what this will do to full page widgets, and is this why the stock widgets are all only two "rows" high at most (so they can fit onto a landscaped home screen)? Does anyone know of any widgets I can install to test this out? The only things I now actually miss from the Sense/Rosie rom are the Calander widget and the Audio widget, and the unlock screen (and they are all pretty much asthetic choices.)
  19. Divide by 8. 8 bits = 1 byte. 1 Mbit/s = 128 kb/s On a seperate note, loving Froyo. No issues what so ever on mine. Well apart from the lack of Rosie, but I can wait for that. :-)
  20. It's probably using a geo-ip database. I hqave noticed that it appears to choose locations in the order GPS > WiFi Geo IP > Cell location Try sticking your IP address into this site: http://www.geoio.com/ and see if it is givinig you the same area. Unfortunatly you are reliant on whatever the provider has put into the database about locations.
  21. Me to, uploading to facebook. Had it in stock to.
  22. No, the Nexus dock (car or desk) does not work with the Desire. The Desire doesn't have the bottom connector pins, all it has is the micro USB connector. I've got both and my Desire is currently lent to a mate and i run the Desire rom on my Nexus mainly because of the Dock situation.
  23. Try this. Go into the "All" view. Press the menu touch button. Touch "View" Then you can choose whch contacts lists get shown there. The one you can't see is probably on a list that's unticked
  24. Ahh, marvelous. Thank you very much. I managed to find the "Only Show contacts withphone numbers" tick box, hopefully that'll help. We'll see next month when it's time to pay my credit card bill I suppose :-)
