  1. I'm using one of the lite roms and I'm quite happy with it just one request. The lockscreen is currently the two "tap to unlock" buttons and I would really like to have the standard slide to unlock screen, is it possible to modify registry/files to revert only the lockscreen back to the sliders? Thanks
  2. Meh so for the time being at least android beta 3 just isnt cutting it for me at least. The phone is horribly slow and laggy all the time, just the process of creating a new text message and typing on it is horrible. The word corrections/predictions is all messed up and constantly wants to correct words to contact names instead of real words. The keyboard is very inacurate and input is laggy. The constant internet open is a real dealbreaker and destroys the battery WAY to fast, winmo has a much much better connection manager built into it. I've always thought android was the best thing ever but this was a real shocker to me. Some poeple reported usb working but when I started the phone under andoid windows detected absolutely nothing when I connected the phone. To sumarize, android beta is sluggish, destroys the battery in no time and REALLY annyoing to get working. I have a modded winmo rom loaded that gives me loads of free ram and 2 days of battery life with mild use, The only advantage of andoid is the app market with all the nice aps but I guess I'll have to wait until I can get a Galaxy s2.
  3. I'm using windows 7/ubuntu and on both the "new device detected" sound never happens when I connect the USB cable to pc. All that happens is the battery shows as charging when I connect the phone to the pc. When I switch to winmo with the same cable it works fine. I tried the *#7284# code and it took about 2 minutes before I got a reponse that said "usb connect error or invalid mmi code" I'm going to try the wifi adb and see if the log helps. Wifi adb works but I have no idea what to do now to troubleshoot this, when i conenct the cable i just see battery charging related messages and nothing that looks helpfull. 4. I got the SD card working (thanks for the aditional mods to the guide) but still no USB connection to the computer while running android. Any way I can troubleshoot the usb thing?
  5. So I finally managed to get android running on my phone and here is my first feedback Windows mobile has a setting that disconnects the internet 2g/3g/hspda when its idle for x seconds, I'm unable to find it on android and it ate my entire battery while I was sleeping. The camera works now that I have the storage card stuff sorted but its quite limited in functionality and interface, maybe there is a better camera app - idk The phone is VERY laggy and slow when installing programs and it takes a good minute before its responsive again. Other than that I'm fairly happy and its pretty awesome that I can just switch back to winmo when needed.
  6. I did a clean install from B3 to internal "my storage" maybe thats the problem or idk. Is there a setting/option where we can see USB setup?
  7. I changed the line in init.rc to enable the SD card and it worked to some extent. The SD card shows up under /mnt/sdcard with the files i put on there as a test but still the camera app wont work and complains that there is no SD card present?
  8. @ Gardakkan Wow your tutorial worked! I just needed one line, the part where you edit the vol.fstab file! Now my SD card does not show, so do I just uncomment the line the init.rc that reads: # mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /sdcard Oh and change it to 0p1 for the SD card right? Also usb connection to PC doesnt seem to work in android, is this normal?
  9. Thanks a lot for this guide, two questions. 1. Can I use ext2/3 or doesn it have to be 4? 2. Does the android partition have to be called "system" ?
  10. I'm in the same boat as leonardodg I just dont get why its so hard to install it to the internal "my storage" I managed to get beta 2 running from the SD card once with the auto installer but I really want it running from the "my storage" I partitioned "my storage" [extended partition (fat32 12gb)], [ext4 2gb], [swap 256mb] the partitions show as 1, 5, 2, 3 - 1 is the extended, 5 is the fat32, 2 is the ext4 and 3 is the swap. So I set my startup.txt to mmcblk1p2 and I created the fstab file in /system/etc/ with the mmcblk1p3 stuff in there. Downloaded the complete beta3 package from the o2droid site. Used ubuntu to extract the ext4 folder to desktop, then used: sudo cp -r * /media/android (i called the ext4 partition "android"). Run haret and then it shows "Now loading adroid on omnia.." for 1min and then shows a night rider style "ANDROID" in the center of the screen that sometimes dissapears and re-appears soon after, I've left it like this for more than 10minutes and nothing changes. PLEASE PLEASE with cheeries and sex on top blinking help me to get this working, its driving me NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTS!!!!
