1. I just installed CM 10.2 on this SH#T phone (also Armv6) for a friend: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i5500_galaxy_5-3371.php Isn't our omnia also Armv6? I don't know... i am still strong with my omnia 2, my only device... sometimes i still cry about, our phone have so much potential.
2. As far as i can tell, this topic refers to an old version of the project. The last version is in here: I believe the download link doesn't work because it's linking to an old IP. 188.94.139.217:88/x/cm_beta2.zip Tried using the page domain and it worked. o2droid.phj.hu/x/cm_beta2.zip
3. To anyone having issues with Incompatible app's: Restore the default "lsd_density" (240 default) ; Check if Date/Time is correct ; Also try cleaning this below and remove dalvik cache: Settings > Applications > All > Google Services Framework > Force Stop > Clear data ; Settings > Applications > Google Play Store > Force Stop > Clear data ; More here
4. This ramaddr change doesnt make sense at all unless you are changing the source files. Are you sure that there's no errors on the compile log. Are you using this command bellow? make zImage modules ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/FriendlyARM/toolschain/4.4.3/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi- On the end it should say "image ready" / "zimage ready". Any error and it would jump out before this message.
5. I've been able to compile a working kernel from his source. I don't think any change was necessary, basically the default config have every feature disabled by default (24bpp driver, 166/Ahb, etc). It should at least get to the "Android on Omnia II loading" screen. You can try to disable kexec (#CONFIG_KEXEC=y). Kexec may prevent the "jump" to the kernel sometimes due some bugs. But this bug only show up sometimes, it will work just by trying to boot again. To be honest i don't think kexec is the problem. You may also check the compiled kernel final size. I always had problems with kernels with 2.9mb+ size. I've solved most of the problems related with this by using the "official" arm-gcc from friendlyarm (friendlyarm.net/dl.php?file=arm-linux-gcc-4.4.3.tgz). But tell me if you make it work, my compiled kernels from his sources doesn't have phone signal working, i have no clue why, phone works fine with his "official" compiled kernel.
6. Hey, i've solved this problem. Check here: http://www.modaco.co...patible-device/ Hi, i believe that the "o2droid" team is everyone who you described on the "All credits going to..." section, plus Voyteckst, which you mistakenly placed on the "Also great thanks to" section.
7. I didnt tested the rom yet but the Installation Guide on the PDF file is really good, it could be useful for a lot of people.
8. Yes, indeed. By the way i've sent you a PM, the i8000 version its booting now, it was a missing apk file. Thanks for keep the project up, the rom works very well. But the default language it's "Chinese, Japanese or Korean" (i have no idea). Anyway, i don't know if it's possible to change it to English by default but either way it's good to alert people how to change it: Settings > Look for the menu with an "A" as icon > On the next screen the first menu > And then select english or any other language on the list.
9. The "creation date" of the zImage on the I8000 package is "11/29/11". Are you sure you uploaded the correct zImage? I'm also stuck at the cyanogen screen. I can hear the "beep" sound that play when the load is almost done but then it start to load again, and beep again and so on... It's a loop.
10. I can't install most of applications from Market. It says isnt compatible with my device. Opera Mini, Go Launcher, etc, etc... i used to have all this apps but now its not compatible. Anyone else having this issue?
11. About the current Beta2, anyone from America lost phone signal? It returns a Invalid IMEI message for me. Already tried to switch between i65 and wm script.
12. Your 8Gb My Storage files will be "mounted" at /storage folder. Just to be clear, the message that you see is "Android on Omnia II Loading" or "Now loading android on omnia 2"? It has been installed without errors and you are trying to run from haret.exe, right?
13. Isnt a "new version", it's the same system/version with a new TEST kernel that bring fixes and improvements, make sure you are aware of this quote right there on the first page: Anyway, install instructions is also on the first post of this topic. It's like you said, try it and then post where you are stuck so we can help you.
14. ext4.tar.gz from manual install package
Yeah, this was from a old update, you can skip this step since cm_beta2 have all files. I'm not sure if i understand what you mean but installation files must be in InternalSD (My Storage), not MainMemory or External SDcard.
15. Don't forgot to follow the requirements: - untouched My Storage with automatic installer content - ext4.tar.gz from manual install package - at least 2GB SD card (class 6 at least will be enough) with one FAT32 partition or with 2 partitions (FAT32 + ext2/3/4) I used to have this problem, don't matter what, even with a fresh installation didn't boot. I solved it formating my partition with GParted (Linux).
16. I've copied the script on the first page and named it zr.sh, then put it where SDcard is mounted. So, with terminal: su (log in as root) chmod 777 /sdcard/zr.sh (make it executable) sh /sdcard/zr.sh (run the script) Then terminal will show some errors but just type free on terminal and see if swap line isn't showing just zeros, if don't, then is working.
17. I'm just curious, which applications have white squares? If is Galery app, then i would suggest QuickPic from Market, is better than default Galery and don't use 3D, so there's no white squares problem. About games, well... we have to choose between more available memory (which means more responsive system) or 3D performance. Even that way i can still play some nice 2D games like Robo Defense, Dragon Fly, etc.
18. You're welcome, but is camera/galery app working? dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard auto /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.1/mmc_host/mmc1
This line did it? Weird... so vold.fstab uses a different system to manage available devices/blocks. Normally it's zero when there's no sd-card inserted.
19. I'm sorry, i couldn't figure out what is the problem yet. Just to make sure, try the following settings: init.rc: Make sure this is it: export EXTERNAL_STORAGE /mnt/sdcard Uncomment this line: # mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /sdcard
And change as follow:
mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /sdcard
loadmod: Change this lines:
fat32ms=`parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 print|grep fat32|awk '{print $1}'`

mount -t vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p$fat32ms /storage
/system/etc/fstab:
/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 swap swap defaults 0 0
/system/etc/vold.fstab:
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard auto /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.1/mmc_host/mmc1
When you boot, open your file manager and take a look at /storage, /mnt/sdcard and /sdcard. Should display your My Storage FAT partition. If it's showing, fine. But Android and others applications may still not recognize it as SDcard, because of vold.fstab. Since you can see your files, you may try again those values that i said before on last page.
20. I didn't noticied speed difference with ZRAM. When you are using a lot of applications (Ebuddy, Opera Mini, SoundCloud, etc) it get slow just as regular swap. Took a while to switch between applications. Also, i'm using GO Launcher because of all widgets (it's all free) which make it even slower. But i checked with CPUTunner and it's running with 667mhz and isn't slower than 800mhz, which is good, at least i didn't noticied it. Also, have someone noticied the "24bpp framebuffer (truecolor display) driver"? I can't see the difference, maybe isn't working here, as i said above i've that interference problem.
21. I'm using d8a036f-694-667mhz-166mhz-160mb-24bpp version. Phone and WIFI is working fine. My problem is with "24bpp screen", it also happend when i tried to implement it in devs kernel. It's hard to explain, screen gets weird, like a television with interference. Running zram script showed some errors: cant create /sys/block/zram0/compressor: nonexistent directory cant create /sys/block/zram0/reset: nonexistent directory
But it's working, because free command was showing swap off and after run the script it's showing swap working. System seems stable, fast even with this cpu downgrade. But i'll stop use it because of screem problem. doesn't seems good.
NO, it's not fast as a Galaxy S. Isn't much faster than the Default release either, but there's a lot of free ram, which help the system being more responsive.
Also, if the system is running with only 667mhz, what do you think is making it faster? The Zram?
22. mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p5 /storage # moved to loadmod
This is used to mount "My Storage" fat32 partition at /storage. But since we are already using "My Storage" fat32 partition as SD-card, it isn't necessary at all. As i said before, when you don't have a SD-card inserted you need to change some values. Take a look in the guide again and perform this changes. If it don't work, you'll need to post here how you formatted your My Storage partition so we can try to help you. Cheers.
/system/etc/vold.fstab is the file you need to change. Try this: dev_mount sdcard /sdcard auto /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.1/mmc_host/mmc 0 or dev_mount sdcard /sdcard auto /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.0/mmc_host/mmc0 or dev_mount sdcard /sdcard auto /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.0/mmc_host/mmc1 Yeah, i'm not sure. If anyone knows the right value at vold.fstab for a non-sdcard inserted, please tell us.
23. When the device don't have a SDcard inserted some values change (mmcblk1p to mmcblk0p). Have you done it? Is your swap working (open terminal and type: free)? Just follow the guide but revert the vold.fstab change in step 3. Also change your fstab file from "mmcblk1p3" to "mmcblk0p3". And so on with the others files, just DON'T change your startup.txt since you are already booting.
24. It's all right, instead of beta3 files you will use CMbeta2 files (ext4.tar.gz, haret.exe and zImage). Use this startup.txt: Set kernel zImage Set ramsize 180*1024*1024 Set mtype 1626 Set ramaddr 0x50000000 Set kernelcrc 1 Set CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 init=/init console=ttySAC2,115200 vmalloc=256M" setbitp 0x7F008808 5 1 pfw 0x7f005800 4 0x3 pfw 0x7f005804 4 0x805 pfw 0x7f005808 4 0x7 pfw 0x7f00580c 4 0x0 pfw 0x7f005828 4 0x11 pfw 0x7f00582c 4 0x80 boot
25. Follow this guide. In step 3, If you don't have a SDcard inserted you may need to change mmc block from "mmcblk1p2" to "mmcblk0p2".
