1. In case you work by hours, replace the following line with new: .ReminderMinutesBeforeStart = 120 replace to: .ReminderMinutesBeforeStart = 60*XX where XX is number of hours. so if you want reminder at 12:00 two days before it should be .ReminderMinutesBeforeStart = 60*36
2. You may find this useful if you: - use Microsoft Outlook and synchronize your device with PC; - birthdays in calendar have shifted in date, but birth date is OK in contact(s); - use Microsoft Exchange, share your calendar and want birthdays to be set to Private; - want to have birthday reminders other than at 23:45; WARNING: Back up Outlook data file before using this solution. Use at your own risk. Tested on MS Outlook 2007. My solution is based on the solutions that can be found here: http://www.outlookcode.com/d/code/remindbday.htm http://the-trusted-adviser.spaces.live.com...C!513.entry Thanks A LOT to the authors! SOLUTION 1 You want Outlook to automatically set appointment to Private and reminder time to 22:00 when a new birthday event is added to calendar by Outlook. DEFAULT BEHAVIOR: - create contact or select existing contact - go to details and set birth date - save contact * Appointment automatically created BUT not set to private and reminder time used as set in settings (Tools>Options>Default reminder) 15 minutes. TARGET BEHAVIOUR: - create contact or select existing contact - go to details and set birth date - save contact * Appointment automatically created and set to PRIVATE with reminder 2 hours before birthday date (22:00). Use code below as described here: http://www.outlookcode.com/d/code/remindbday.htm (my code is modified): In Outlook, press Alt+F11 to open VBA window, then double-click "ThisOutlookSession" in the left pane and paste code. Then close VBA window. Done. Dim WithEvents mcolCalItems As Items Private Sub Application_MAPILogonComplete() Dim objNS As NameSpace Set objNS = Application.GetNamespace("MAPI") Set mcolCalItems = objNS.GetDefaultFolder(olFolderCalendar).Items Set objNS = Nothing End Sub Private Sub mcolCalItems_ItemAdd(ByVal Item As Object) If Item.Class = olAppointment And _ InStr(Item.Subject, "Birthday") > 0 Then With Item .ReminderSet = True .ReminderMinutesBeforeStart = 120 'REMINDER TIME BEFORE DATE in MINUTES 120min = 2 hours .Sensitivity = olPrivate 'THIS MAKES APPOINTMENT PRIVATE .Save End With End If End Sub[/codebox] SOLUTION 2 You want to batch re/create all (or selected) birthday items in Calendar based on info in Contacts. Useful if you import contacts or have problems with birthdays (appear one day before) in calendar due to time zone change or DST. Follow the link below for step by step solution, but use MY CODE: http://the-trusted-adviser.spaces.live.com...p;wa=wsignin1.0 BEFORE RUNNING THE CODE: Create a subfolder in Outlook/Calendar folder and MOVE all recurring appointments (birthdays) to this new folder. TIP: Use Tools > Organize > Using Views > Recurring appointments for easy filtering and multiple selection - Select desired contacts, press Alt+F8 run macro NewBirthdayReminder. [codebox]Sub NewBirthdayReminder() Dim objApp As Outlook.Application Dim objNS As NameSpace Dim objSelection As Outlook.Selection Dim objItem As ContactItem Set objApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") Set objNS = objApp.GetNamespace("MAPI") Set objSelection = objApp.ActiveExplorer.Selection MsgBox ("Converting " & objSelection.Count) For Each objItem In objSelection objItem.Birthday = objItem.Birthday objItem.Save Next End Sub SOLUTION 3 You want to batch process Appointments in Calendar to set REMINDER TIME or PRIVATE (sensitivity). Useful if you use Microsoft Exchange and SHARE your calendar. You want your contacts' birthdays to be invisible to others. Follow the link below for step by step solution, but use MY CODE: http://the-trusted-adviser.spaces.live.com...p;wa=wsignin1.0 TIP: Use Tools > Organize > Using Views > Recurring appointments for easy filtering and multiple selection - Select desired contacts, press Alt+F8 run macro MarkAppointmentPrivate. Sub MarkAppointmentPrivate() Dim objApp As Outlook.Application Dim objNS As NameSpace Dim objSelection As Outlook.Selection Dim objItem As AppointmentItem Set objApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") Set objNS = objApp.GetNamespace("MAPI") Set objSelection = objApp.ActiveExplorer.Selection 'Set mcolCalItems = objNS.GetDefaultFolder(olFolderCalendar).Items 'test MsgBox ("Converting " & objSelection.Count) For Each objItem In objSelection With objItem .ReminderSet = True .Sensitivity = olPrivate 'THIS MAKES APPOINTMENT PRIVATE .Save End With objItem.Save Next End Sub[/codebox] SOLUTION 4 You want to batch process Appointments in Calendar to set REMINDER TIME. Useful if you want NEW reminder time to be set to all birthdays at once. If you do not like to wake up at 23:45 to snooze the reminder. Follow the link below for step by step solution, but use MY CODE: http://the-trusted-adviser.spaces.live.com...p;wa=wsignin1.0 TIP: Use Tools > Organize > Using Views > Recurring appointments for easy filtering and multiple selection - Select desired contacts, press Alt+F8 run macro MarkAppointmentTime. [codebox]Sub MakeAppointmentTime() Dim objApp As Outlook.Application Dim objNS As NameSpace Dim objSelection As Outlook.Selection Dim objItem As AppointmentItem Set objApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") Set objNS = objApp.GetNamespace("MAPI") Set objSelection = objApp.ActiveExplorer.Selection 'Set mcolCalItems = objNS.GetDefaultFolder(olFolderCalendar).Items 'test MsgBox ("Converting " & objSelection.Count) For Each objItem In objSelection With objItem .ReminderSet = True .ReminderMinutesBeforeStart = 120 'REMINDER TIME BEFORE DATE in MINUTES 120min = 2 hours .Save End With objItem.Save Next End Sub Thanks again to the authors of the original code. GOOD LUCK PS: Sorry for limited walkthrough and guiding, I have very little time but really wanted to post this solution.

Qtek 8500 bugs?

1) It is correct that hitting Time and Date on home screen starts Comm Man. This is most likely because in comparison with SP5 or 8310 there is no more Comm Man hardware button. 2) When in Comm Man hitting 5 swithches between the 1 and the 3 profile (Normal & Meeting). To make it switch to vibrate only set the desired Vibrate settings in the Profiles options.
4. Try this link: http://www.modaco.com/Tweak_for_iMate_SP5_SP5m-t230975.html You need to scroll down a bit
5. If anyone mentioned this already, please ignore... - To scroll start menu press # (or < to go back) - And why do Answer/Reject buttons appear UNDER Contacts/Inbox??? Should it not be the other way around?!
6. So I have iMate SP3i with the latest firmware. I have an ASUS W5 laptop with builtin bluetooth stack by Toshiba. It runs Windows XP SP2 with all recent updates. I can ActiveSync via Bluetooth and I can setup a Dial-up Networking connection via bluetooth (ie. set up a bluetooth modem). I can connect via GPRS to the Internet, it shows the status of connection and all is ok. I can send/receive email from a mail server (address: 195.xxx.xxx.xxx) I CAN PING IP ADDRESSES (195.xxx.xxx.xxx)!!! BUT I CANNOT PING WEB ADDRESSES (www.google.com) When I start IE and go to www.google.com it says "The page cannot be displayed" (dnserror). Basically - it cannot resolve DNS names. Same happens when using USB connection (HTC USB Modem). Here is what MS says about this: Your GPRS phone may not connect to the Internet http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;827539 AND stupidly there is no way to download the bloody hotfix! Any ideas?
7. Version 1.6 slowed my SP3i down a lot... "Egg" timer used to pop up a lot. Anyone else noticed this problem? If so, has it been fixed yet?

I have tested builds 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 - loads VERY slow on i-mate SP3 and eventually does NOT work. Softkeys appear to be disabled and no other keys apart from 'Home' work.
10. Great! I've been waiting for an app like this for some time!! Good job! Some settings would be great: - Miles/Kilometers - Galons/Liters - set default input mode on fields to NUMBER (123) format and include a "." (dot) in the field to save time on switching between input modes. - Automatic "blank" (or previous entry value) on Odometer field is needed if no number is entered to prevent app from crashing. Good luck! :D
11. customcabbage.co.uk does not MAKE cab - just says "waiting for clear" and keeps reloading the page
12. DOH!! Ok, I have found another problem (for me). I remapped XBAR key to 121 (VoiceRec) and cannot use Selection mode (long press on Vol- button). Why? Because when I made a selection and want to copy it, I need to press Action key that launches xBar (as it says in manual). But when I press action key it works as Enter key and replaces my selected text by going to next line. When I press record key, it does not work.... Help!
13. I try to change the key in .ini file to KEY_XBAR=91 (using different delay times KEY_DELAY= from 0 to 500) and when I press and hold "Home" key nothing happens. It appears that the "Home" key is somehow system pre-programmed for short and long press. So if you press "Home" shortly, it takes you to homescreen, long press on "Home" key does nothing (not even homescreen). This is my #1 wish - to launch xBar by long "Home" key press.) Another question is why the : symbol in time in the title bar is after minutes, not hours? 12 59: Can it be made 12:59 in one line? Or maybe in 2 lines, but like this: 12: 59 Thanks! PS: xBar 2.5 is just too goood! Good work Xetra!
14. error.txt > No files found. What I did: 1. Copy custom settings.exe to \IPSM\Windows\Start Up\ 2. Create a folder \Storage Card\settings (that is: \settings folder on SD card) 3. Copy clock.cpl.xml to \Storage Card\settings\ 4. Reboot phone. 5. Read error.txt on my phone :(( Also tried \IPSM\settings folder and also 2 files in settings folder - xml & exe..... So where is my problem?
