Game Over For My Hudl2 ?

Hey, I had this problem a while back and found a work around. http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/373642-how-to-root-your-hudl-2/?page=16#comment-2248479

No problem. Similar to some (really) old school methods of breaking out of kiosk mode on PCs back in the day. Nostalgic [emoji14]

    January OTA feedback for Tesco

My clock was 5 hours out so I've tried altering the standard ntp server from pool.ntp.org to my isp ntp server. Will see if that makes a difference. Seems to have fixed it in the short term. If you're feeling brave, the ntp server is configured in /etc/gps.conf. You'll need to be rooted to change this.

How to root your Hudl 2

Well, after some fiddling I've managed to find a way around the forced update for a first time install. First off, wipe the device from recovery. Boot up and select 'Add Network' from the wifi selection screen. Hold down the microphone key on the google keyboard and select the settings icon and select the settings icon. This will show 'Input Options'. Select 'Google Keyboard Settings' Select 'About Google Keyboard' Select 'Open-source licences' Highlight some text with a long press then select 'WEB SEARCH' from the top right This will take you to the Google Now search page and show a not connected error. Type 'Settings' into the search box and select the settings page from the drop down. From here you can enable developer mode, enable adb and fix any stupid changes to the system partition that you might have made (whoops :P ) There's probably a shorter route than this but I'm just pretty happy to have the chance to repair the damage :D

Well, been trying to spoof the update check all night but unfortunately it's all done over https. Not been able to even see the request being made :( Think I'll have to admit that I won't be able to fix it unless some other way of updating comes around. Fingers crossed for a custom recovery really.

    No joy I'm afraid.

Think I've already tried this. Just asks you to 'Check Wifi Connection' and won't let you progress. Will give it another go though.

The files are renamed but I can't get in to change them back now. Should still be rooted and might still be downloading play store apps in the background. Not sure if I can get anything installed that'll help though. Will use titanium next time. Learning a lesson today. Never flash on little sleep! A little annoyed that they force you to take the update.

Think I might have bricked my hudl :( I had disabled some of the tesco apps and did a wipe without thinking. Now I can't get past the 'Update available' screen as it just fails and brings me back again. Any way to recover? -- Edit -- Tried everything I can think of. Last thing to try will be a proxy to try and intercept and fake the update call. Probably a weekend job though. Unless anyone has anything I might have overlooked.

SD card size issue & Stuck at HTC boot screen

If the SD Card business works like the Hard drive business, they'll be advertising 1GB as 1000MB And 1MB as 1000 kilobytes. When you use the (correct) 1024, you get a fair bit less space than advertised. Actual Space = (((16GB / 1.024)/1.024)/1.024) = 14.901161194
