  1. what's the procedure for updating? This is what I've tried. 1. Settings -> About phone -> CyanogenMod updates 2. Update Types 3. New Versions, incl. Nightlies 4. Download the latest version 5. Select Update Is any manual wiping or other steps necessary? The download doesn't seem to include an MD5 file. Is there a setting to include that during updates? Do people generally update everyday? Is there a changlog available somewhere?
  2. so now that I already installed it, what should I do? just wipe dalvik cache, or do I have to reinstall from the beginning?
  3. I'm a noob, so please forgive my ignorance. Is this how you supposed to install this? 1. Unlock phone using Huawei code 2. Install TWRP 3. Copy files to phone (/internal_sd/Download/) pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20140217-signed.zip pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20140217-signed.zip.md5 cm-11-20140220-NIGHTLY-u8833.zip cm-11-20140220-NIGHTLY-u8833.zip.md5 4. Boot into TWRP (Volume up + Power for 10 seconds) 5. Select "Wipe" -> "Advanced Wipe" -> "Dalvik Cache" + "cache" + "system" + "data" + "Android Secure" and swipe to wipe 6. Select "Install" 7. navigate to /internal_sd/Download/ 8. Select cm-11-20140220-NIGHTLY-u8833.zip 9. Select Add More Zips 10. Select pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20140217-signed.zip 11. Swipe to Confirm Flash 12. Select Wipe Dalvik Cache edit: just tried the steps above, and I can confirm it works. clock force closes, but no big deal. Thanks edit 2: added wipe steps for future reference

Try to use Ubuntu or OSX to recognize the device in ADB. I've had problems with the windows drivers.

    [CM9] Cyanogenmod 9 for LiquidA1/LiquidE

@Ma7maoud I'm trying your easy method, but in Windows XP or 7 I can't get an adb device. I installed the drivers in the first post. It's listed in device manager as a media device 'A1'. I have usb debugging enabled, and I tried turning it off and on. On Ubuntu I see the device when I run adb-linux devices. The devices reboots into bootloader, but then the fastboot-linux command gets stuck < waiting for device > Are there some other windows drivers I can try? Thanks EDIT: ok I tried the script on my mac (10.7) and it finally worked. after flashing the new recovery I was able to install the beta 4 zip file. Thanks for your help.

hmm... when I try to Install OpenRecoveryScript in goomanager I get an error "No recovies were found for your device". I think I have the first version installed. 9.0.0-RC0-Liquid-WAG-Team-liquid-KANG, build date march 4 if that says anything. It's a liquid E, but the model under settings says A1. I have CWM v5.5.0.4. If I try to flash it from CWM I get the following error: assert failed: getprop("ro.build.product") == "salsa" E:Error in /sdcard/cm-9-20120622-UNOFFICIAL-salsa.zip (Stauts 7) Installation aborted. any idea what I can do?

I assume you sleep for 8 hours. So that means your phone only drops by 18% in 16 hours? Are you using this rom? normal battery?

hmm. I took out my sim card, turned off wifi/gps/sync/bluetooth, and never turned on the screen, and the battery life stayed the same. How many hours do you get?

just installed on LiquidE. works good so far. - wakes up faster then 2.3 based roms after pressing the power button - animations laggy, especially the live wallpaper - browser takes a long time to render pages - rotation effects work well. no screen off effect - 257MB RAM free after first boot, and running market (google play) to install angry birds - angry birds works smooth! - google maps works well. GPS is quick to lock - no swap or ext used - 247MB RAM free after doing all the above and playing around a bit. looks good I'll report on battery after a bit. I'm on baseband version A1-05.01.05. That's what it should be right? Thanks for all the hard work.

    [ROM] MIUI - 2.1.20 (2.3.7c) - Phoenix

hmm, some apps (market, root explorer, anything I downloaded) disappeared after a reboot. Any ideas how to fix this? edit: well after fixing the ext partition and wiping cache in malez recovery the apps are back. strange
  14. Waspinator

    stuck on acer screen.

I went into application settings and cleared all data in the market, then rebooted into malez and cleared all caches, and now it seems to be working. Thanks

hmm root explorer is in chinese so I dont know which button is used for delete. also I cannot install anything from the market because it says that there isn't enough space. in about phone it says there is 155mb left, and I have an ext2 partition thats 512mb big and empy "There is insufficient space on the device" FIXED I cleared all settings in the market app, and all caches in malez and now I can download new apps. Thanks
