  1. I use this on my Nexus 4...... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322443
  2. I dont like the fact that you get a bloody great big warning splash screen when you switch it on after its been unlocked. boooo Motarola.... booooo.
  3. My wife doesn't use much space at all. 8gb of space would be plenty. Because the Blade V specs aren't that impressive the Nexus 4 is leagues ahead of it. Here's food for thought, the Blade V has the same resolution screen as the first blade but has a smaller dpi. Plus I bet the Blade 1 oled screen is better.
  4. ZTE need to release a Skate 2. My wife has my old Skate & the poor thing is just too slow compared to a lot of new budget phones. However, the Skate does benefit from the 4.3" screen, Once you use a phone with a 4.3"+ screen you can never go lower imo. Therefore, I wouldnt really consider the Blade V. I might if it really had good specs, but its quite 'meh' across the board. Might have to save up & get the 8GB Nexus for the wife. https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_4_8_GB?id=nexus_4_8gb&hl=en_GB IMO - the BEST sub £200 phone on the market.
  5. I think there’s something 'not quite right' with this Fastboot Root flash. I too had the boot loop after flashing the Superboot as per instructions. The unlock bootloader work fine. Luckily I managed to flash the Nexus 7 back to factory settings using the link bbawden posted. However, oddly the Root Flash worked when I tried it again. The reasons why the flash didn’t work maybe down to 2 factors: 1. I didn’t reboot the nexus after unlocking the boot loader 2. The tablet was not up to date. (Not my tablet, so didn’t know what version it was running)
  6. I'll be sticking with my Nexus 4. Shame they couldnt go crazy & sell it for £199
  7. Thought I let you guys have a look at the custom home made PS3 joypad phone mount I made the other week. Rather than post it all again here, here's the link to the post I made over at XDA forums. (Mods, let me know if this breaks any rules) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322443
  8. You still using 'TOUCHME Z V1.3 ROM'? Is that still one of the better ROMs? (everything fully working etc.)?
  9. Thanks Andy. The lag (or time delay from the button press to the time when the photo is taken) is terrible on the Skate. Almost a second goes by after the button press till the shutter activates. I think the autofocus doesnt help. Looks like my misses is getting an new phone for her anniversery prezzie! Not a very romantic gift, I know, but she needs a new phone & i cant think of anything else!! {she is getting flowers as well!!}
  10. Thanks for the reply VP. How is the camera function? Is there much lag like th Skate? Ta
  11. Now Vodafone have dropped the price of the G510 to £110 I'm considering getting one for the Mrs as a wedding anniversary present. She is currently using a ZTE Skate (Orange Monte Carlo) but moans about the onboard memory (no room for apps), being slow & the photo quality not being up to much. So, has anyone used a Skate & the G510? And how do they compare? I don't want to drop in screen size (eg. 4inch of the Y300/G330) but would like a significant faster phone with a better camera. The G510 was a 5MP camera the same as the Skate - but MP are everything & the Skate has quite bad shutter lag & the photo colours are quite wash out. How good are the photos on the G510. Also, does the G510 do 720P video recording? I've read there's some confusion on whether its capable of this or not. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
  12. I had this problem with GiffGaff when I first got my phone & using GO sms Pro. I was pulling my hair out trying to get the MMS to work with my GO SMS Pro messaging app. Internet (3G) was fine but for some reason MMS wouldn’t work. After trying several methods & edits of the APN & searching the GiffGaff message board for help (loads of tips but nothing worked) I managed to fix it myself - here's what I did.... I copied the APN settings from my old Android phone & entered them into my Nexus 4, the settings were: Name: Giffgaff APN: giffgaff Proxy: <Not Set> Port: <Not Set> UserName: giffgaff Password: password Server: http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002 MMSC: http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002 MMS Proxy: MMS Port: 8080 MCC: 234 MNC: 10 Authentication type: Not Set APN type: default,supl,mms Now even though these settings worked for MMS on my old phone, they wouldn’t work with my new Nexus 4. However, I found that if I manually entered the MMS settings into my messaging app then MMS would work. For Go SMS Pro, open app, select settings, select advanced tab at top, select 'MMS Settings', then select 'Fill APN configuration manually' For MMSC enter: http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002 For MMS Proxy enter: For MMS Port enter: 8080 Once I entered these values, MMS started working - happy days!! Of course the APN settings will be different for Orange but the principal should be the same.
  13. I'm not to sure you know how the pie works. The pie is only there when you swipe up when you want to go back or home. You can alter the size of the pie from very small to very big. The more you use it the more it becomes second nature and you don't even see it when you use it.
  14. Try both of them then try Paranoid Android 2.99 (Feb 06). Fantastic ROM. The 'PIE' works great!! I tried it to see what all the fuss was about & havent gone back to another ROM since!
