  1. Is that true that Aura has its own GPS drivers and do not use the OS GPS driver?
  2. OK, now it works like a charm, I've rebuilt the ROM step-by-step, tested after each modification and now it works, however I still do not know what the hell was going on. Thank you anyway for your support!
  3. Thanks. I have just restarted modifying the base rom and ATM it seems to be working fine for me too. I'm followin the same steps as before...

  5. Are you sure that /cache is a tmpfs? What does the mount command tell you? Then it seems that it is not worth to keep myself busy with :) Thank you for your help anyway.
  6. Thanks for the info. Is there a way to extract from an lzma archive?

  8. OK, here's what I did: [email protected]:~/dsixda-Android-Kitchen-e6e8ff5# ./unpack.pl boot.img #script from link found on web Could not find any embedded ramdisk images. 9. Hi! I mounted the /cache as tmpfs to quicken things but I just noticed that market won't download anything. It seems to start downloading, the DL icon flashes several times and then disappears. When I remount cache as yaffs everything is fine again. On Swedish Spring R3. Script in post_boot.sh: umount /cache mount -t tmpfs -o size=42M,nr_inodes=42k,mode=0770 tmpfs /cache chown system.cache /cache Any suggestions?
  10. I followed the link in the 2nd post but neither method worked. # gzip -dc boot.img-ramdisk.gz | cpio -i gzip: boot.img-ramdisk.gz: not in gzip format cpio: premature end of archive
  11. Hi, I wanted to add init.d feature to SS3/4 but the kitchen I use (dsixda) was unable to work with the boot.img. I sucessfully split the image into ramsdisk and kernel images however this did not lead to anywhere. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks for the answer. Would that explain why 600 is the max with other ROMs or why the governor changes every time I change CPU speeds?
  13. Hi! Is there a way to set default CPU settings. I mean the current setting is 604Mhz with ondemand governor, and no matter how hard I try I can't make it back to 600 with ondemand. Every time I manage to set 600 it switches to performance governor... (I also asked this question in the 'official' R4 topic but so far got no attention...)
  14. Why can't I set CPU max to 600 with ondemand governor? It switches back to 604 and performance. Please make an update script or help me!
  15. Hi! I've just installed Swedish Spring R4 and noticed the CPU speed is 604Mhz. I applied a patch to restore default speed at 600Mhz but Nofrills tells me that the scaling governor is performance instead of ondemand... Can anyone explain what they do and how to set CPU back to 600? Current settings: echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor echo 90 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold echo 30 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/down_differential echo 500000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate And CPU speed is still 604. If I add a min/max speed then the governor switches back to performance... Besides, there is no choice of 600 in Nofrills...
  16. FLB R8 but I'm not talking about picture browsing but browsing web pages with pictures on them :) I'm going to refine the first post it is really a bit ambiguous, sorry. However the default gallery is now gone - Quickpic is the new favourite. :P
  17. Hi! I'm wondering why the WEB browsing performance is so weak when the webpage contains pictures (many small or a few big)? This phone is capable to run 2D/3D applications at a considerable speed I would have never thought some pictures on a webpage would make it sweat. Hungarian link to Galaxy S with Android 2.3 This link says (unfortunately in Hungarian) that the web browsing performance has been significantly increased due to employing hardware acceleration in the web browser. Is there any possibility to implement this or a similar method to speed up browsing?
  18. WIFI drops connection when asleep, seems to connect fine automatically on wake-up. OSF OLED 3MP, FLB r10 w/o su fix
  19. Let me just answer myself. I did a test with 13 randomly chosen apps. Those which FCd have been decompiled and their lib files have been put on the phone and they started to work charmingly. I think time will tell if any apps need different files than libs.
  20. Thanks mate, this helped! However, I have two questions: - if all apps use the same libs, then it is easy to extract from one, put into the ROM zip, flash, and then 'system apps' can be added easily later. What if other files are missing as well? - how can I automate this process if the previous point fails?
  21. Recently I have found out that apps placed under system/app must have permission rw-r--r--. This way they seem to get installed however, they FC. I investigated further and the app. manager says an incorrect app size.
  22. The fixed r6 won't boot on my OSF, the old one (without the fix & fix in a separate file) works like a charm. Besides, how is it possible, that the very same ROM installed with the sasme steps show different amount of RAM on two identical OSFs??? The stock ROM show 414, the two FLBs show 416 v 404. ;)
  23. No ideas? I created an update.zip with the apps I need, signed it then installed via CW. Most of the apps worked but some FCd. I reinstalled these apps manually then they worked... Am I missing something?
