OK so how can we get Lollipop rooted ?

I have been taking to sdc, he is the best at Intel, please provide him links to 5.1 OTA. If this device can be rooted sdc, is the guy that can do it.

Here are some of the scripts with commands, and their own fastboot binary, http://www.mediafire.com/download/43a6ia64xil1zwn/i708Q+firmware+0815.zip Please don't try all the commands as they could do damage. Look at these These are new to me, as well as others. they issue first command below before they issue normal fastboot oem unlock, then to install system.img they add -S200M to that line. sudo fastboot oem enable_oem_unlock sudo fastboot flash -S 200M system system.img sudo fastboot oem verified

I did do a little searching and found a tablet similar to your hudl2, in that it has 5.1 and is an intel, http://www.iviewus.com/index.php/i-708q.html I am trying to find this tablet, so far no luck but I was able to get the company to give me the software for it, still looking through the software, looks like they provide fastboot commands I haven't seen before to get the bootloader to unlock, temporarily and fastboot commands to flash system.img which is again different then any commands I have seen. Then is be it a slim chance that might work on hudl2, seeing both are similar running 5.1 with locked bootloaders, I am sure hudl2 still needs to it id in fastboot commands.
  4. You sound like it's something easy to do! Well, i dont even know how to start (unpacking boot.img). I fail.. And yes, i'm clueless, that is why im here to try and get some help. Obviously, in vain.. Unpacking repacking boot.img is easy, trying to determine what drivers your device is using without having the device in hand is almost impossible. If you can't unpack and repack boot.img, I doubt you know what drivers your device uses. dmesg and logcat logs are needed to determine what drivers are being loaded, and used by touch drivers cross referenced with modprobe to see what modules are loaded.

  6. The post sounds like nonsense basically you unpack the boot.img and comment out all ts drivers except the ones need for your device, then repack boot.img. Clearly sounds like the poster is totally clueless, most likely he used a boot.img that contained a kernel that wasn't stock kernel for his device, and on top of that didn't use correct files from stock rom /system/usr which are ts files.

Game Over For My Hudl2 ?

Thanks.... yes I was!! Flashed the extracted image and it's up and running again :-) Now to stop the updates..... but have looked through the file in /system/build.prop and can't see anything obvious which sets updates? build.prop-2015-01-06 Change every 4.4.2 to 5.1 Change KOT49H to anything example KOT50H

Are you trying to flash a zip file with fastboot? If so don't extract and flash the system

Game Over For My Hudl2 ?

Well don't connect to the internet until you modified the build.prop file. Updater look at the build.prop file to determine if update is needed, change this tells the updater you don't need an update.

That's funny right there, Tesco is proud that they released code, Even linked to it yet refuse to unlock the bootloader so you can use it. I would ask them how long my device is under warranty, then when that date comes be it a year or two years, once it's out of warranty I would like software to unlock the bootloader, seeing the reason they won't unlock it is due to warranty, once warranty is expired then the bootloader should be OK to unlock seeing the tablet no longer is under warranty.

Stock recovery won't flash them, stock will only flash zip files signed by tesco. Have to find a way to boot tablet into fastboot, try different combos. Hold both volume up and down + plus, and so on.

This is at pulsing star? In recovery mode there is no option to boot into bootloader?

That is recovery mode not fastboot mode, you are in recovery mode, you need to boot into fastboot mode. Fastboot mode is bootloader, android on back is recovery mode.
