  1. Im using v1.999 posted on this thread, and 90% of the time the video/sound plays ok, no sync problems, depending on my location and time of day, so I'm putting the poor sync down to network. The live BBC news stream quality is poor though Using the standard 2.1 rom with orange stuff removed.
  2. 3 have now brought all you can eat data to pay as you go. For a 15 quid addon you get 300 minutes, 3000 texts and unlimited data for 30 days (says 80GB when you check your balance)
  3. My question hasn't been answerewd!!! I googled this, but the details are hard to find. Who owns and controls these 3g networks, do giffgaff, orange, o2.... etc pay a third party for bandwidth? giffgaff have no shops, or have to pay call center staff, how does this equate to being able to offer their customers 100MB a day when O2 only give 500MB a month.
  4. well i decide to stick with orange 4 the time being. I top up a tenner a month and buy 100 minutes plus 250MB gives me 150MB less than O2 deal, but a fiver cheaper. In case my fone f**** up, and I have to take it back under warranty
  5. I just did a test on watching 2 minutes of HQ youtube using watchdog to measure bandwidth = 14MB of data. There must be some people on giffgaff who are seriously takin the p***, and streaming content for hours each day, using up hundreds of MB. I know they dont have any stores, or have to pay call centre staff, but how do they do it, when O2 restrict to 500MB?

  7. you mean this? http://www.marketingmagazine.co.uk/sectors...u-go-customers/ quote: Everything Everywhere lost pay-as-you-go customers, as its strategy is to increase its contract business, which is more profitable to its bottom line.
  8. slightly off topic, but if you're after a cheap cam that does 720p, 720p @ 60fps and 1080p, asda are selling the kodak playsport for 97 quid. For the price, the picture quality is amazing, even comes supplied with a hdmi cable as standard.
  9. 3g sorry, modified post installed opera, cheers
  10. Why is this site blocked by orange 3g? I thought we lived in a free democratic society, not North Korea. What a joke
  11. If youre downloading video offv youtube, install the Video DownloadHelper for firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ad...downloadhelper/ and use the icon thingy just above the video, not the one on the toolbar, it downloads as mp4, and the standard video player plays em ok.
  12. Not too good. Here's a gpx track I loaded into google earth, and as you can see, was surrounded by buildings, the fone placed on the passenger seat of my car,
  13. yep, it takes a few minutes to zero in on you I've done a bit of testing on the fone, and I'm impressed. Used osmtracker to record tracks, some up to 10 miles long, the fone just placed on the passanger seat of my car. Checked against the OSM data, and its spot on, very accurate. Outside away from buildings I'm getting 1 metre accuracy, indoors as I type this I'm getting 3 to 4 metres.
  14. No, the fone is 99.99, and you have to buy a 20 topup at an orange shop Might of misread scotty2's post, dunno if the argos fone already comes with a tenner on it.
  15. So you might as well just walk into your nearest orange shop. 99 plus 20 top up. they also set it up for to you.
