  1. Use H.264 Constrained Baseline Profile, resolution 800x480 or lower (Blade has problems with downscaling), and bitrate 500 kbps or less for video, and AAC-LC 128 kbps for audio - built-in hardware decoder should work nicely, then. If you plan to stream over HTTP, make sure MOOV atom goes first (you can use qt-faststart tool from FFmpeg package to convert the MP4, or "-movflags +faststart" ffmpeg parameter during encoding). Full syntax for ffmpeg to convert video.avi to video.mp4 will look like that: ffmpeg -i video.avi -f mp4 -movflags +faststart -vcodec libx264 -acodec libvo_aacenc -profile:v baseline -profile:a aac_low -b:v 500k -b:a 128k -ac 2 -s 800x480 video.mp4 Current ffmpeg builds for Windows can be found here: http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/. I've just tested conversion using it, and playback was fine (both audio and video), using Android built-in player on my Blade.
  2. @zeelog: would love to see CM11-based port reaching quality of KonstaT and daemond CM10.x-based roms, fully functional for daily use. GL with porting+hacking :).
  3. Ad. 1: It's activity crash for me, when trying to create new CM account. I have no other device with official CM 10.2, so can't tell if it's generic problem, or something specific to this Blade port. Ad. 2: I liked the 60 fps version, but if it's not trivial fix (any hint from daemond?) that you could easily insert into next release, then guess will just live with it.
  4. First of all - thanks for your work, KonstaT! I've installed the rom like 2 hours (after changing partition size), and everything seems to be working fine - observed just 2 small issues: 1. CyanogenMod accounts not working - guess it's still under development by core CM team. 2. Very low fps (like 15-20) on animation displayed after pressing power button - same effect on CM10 (by daemond) was closer to 60 fps.
  5. Maybe check those apps - suppose you've got some that required WAKE_LOCK permission and don't release the wake lock. You can see active wake locks using "adb shell dumpsys power" command, you should see something like that: mLocks.size=4: SCREEN_DIM_WAKE_LOCK 'StayOnWhilePluggedIn Screen Dim' activated (minState=1, uid=1000, pid=189) PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK 'StayOnWhilePluggedIn Partial' activated (minState=0, uid=1000, pid=189) SCREEN_BRIGHT_WAKE_LOCK 'KEEP_SCREEN_ON_FLAG' activated (minState=3, uid=1000, pid=189) PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK 'AudioOut_1' activated (minState=0, uid=1013, pid=113)
  6. Thx for reporting - I've used just analog version myself, so didn't notice that. Looked at logcat when adding digital clock widget and there is reference to TextClock (API level 17) in digital version. Will try to do real backport based on 4.2.2 DeskClock sources (not just odex deodexing) later on, and let you know when it's done.
  7. One thing I've really missed here in this nearly perfect ROM was alarm clock app coming with 4.2.2, so... I've spent some time and here's flashable zip with it, for those who want it (for Android 4.1.x devices, only - don't try applying it to older versions): Android4.2.2_Clock_lcf.zip It's based on 4.2 zip by gnufabio, just replaced apk with one retrieved from Galaxy Nexus 4.2.2 factory image (learned some basics about simg2img, baksmali, and smali in the process - apk+odex version didn't work). Original apk coming with 4.2 by gnufabio had broken countdown layout when displayed on our WVGA Blade screen (last digit was cut). Installation step-by-step: 1. Clear old clock app data: Settings -> Apps -> All -> Clock -> Clear data. 2. Use root explorer app (ES File Explorer worked for me) and remove (backup first) old clock app (it comes as system/app/DeskClock.apk in CM10). 3. Reboot to recovery, flash the zip, reboot. Tested on my own Blade with CM10, but it may work with any other Android 4.1.x device, too - no native code or Blade-specific changes inside.
  8. Official CM 7.2 for Blade was lagging even when unlocking the screen or scrolling the app list (did full wipe before installing, was using default settings and launcher). None of these happening to me on latest CM10 by daemond.
  9. I liked few small things in 4.2 UI, like new alarm clock or enhanced notifications. But stability and smoothness are more important to me, so sticking to CM10 for daily use, and observing how CM10.1 port is going (looks like it's more changes under the hood between 4.1 and 4.2 than most of us thought).
  10. Get CM10-20130226 by daemond - best ROM I've tried so far, including official CM 7.2 and few unofficial ports of CM10.1. It's smooth, stable, has no bloatware attached, and no problems with S2E (simple2ext).
  11. Btw. daemond how about adding DONATE button to first post? Both you and KonstaT doing great job, and that might be easy way for people to say "thanks!" for your effort :).
  12. Had the same problem in CM10.1, and laggy animation when pressing power button. Both problems gone after switching to CM10-20130226 by daemond. Miss few features from JB 4.2, though, so hope it's possible to fix the graphics here, too.
  13. Hail Lord daemond! ;] Would be nice to see those changes merged into CM 10.1 based ROM(s), too - hope KonstaT is reading this ;].
  14. Umm... Any chance to restore default JB wallpaper without having to browse internet for it? PACman at booting is fine, but as wallpaper - not really, composes badly with clock and app icons. ROM itself may be fine (just installed, so not much tested, yet), but first thought after seeing new desktop was "what have I done..." :P. EDIT: if anyone needs clean, stock JB wallpapers, I've found them here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kov.gallery.jellybean Btw. it's based on some older CM version? Recent CM 10.1 builds have hidden recovery at reboot (until enabled in advanced options).
