  1. So you'resaying that Moto G users all just accept that they will lose calls every so often? Or is it Lollipop users that have this as a common experience? I'm sure such a failing would be all over the mags/blogs if this were so! I don't make heavy use off my phone so it might well just be me. Can anybody offer useful advice about what I might be doing wrong when answering my phone?
  2. More than once my Moto G's phone has rung while another app was open and it was impossible to answer it as no phone interface could be reached. I had to let it ring out and attempt to ring back via History. What should I have done? My iPhone-owning wife says I should "get a proper phone". Was she right that an Android is a waste of money? Out was she right that I'm clueless?
  3. This fault is really starting to piss me off. I have just lost a number of hard-to-get shots with only the early ones - the ones I checked, felt good about the camera app, and then shot away, only to find nothing that I had done since. It is clearly a VERY rare occurrence. No-one even me-tooed' it. Others are as uncertain as I am about the location of picture files (apart from the should-be DCIM folder tree which at least one other app does not adhere to). And there is no ADB-mediated app/script that I can try to find the missing jpegs? I can find no 'find' command via the terminal.
  4. This has happened repeatedly and erratically. I take a shot with/without flash, can retrieve it immediately from within camera app (sideways swipe) and then, alter, when I need to edit them, I find that there is no record available of the shots I have taken. I have a number of camera apps but all of them were installed after this worrying failure started, so they are unlikely to be to blame. The phone is running 4.4.4 and is rooted. Is this a rare occurrence? If I delete the third-party camera apps will this delete their pictures as well? I am uncertain as to how the images are stored, whether as files or as database fields or whatever... Is there any Android app or ADB (whatever) procedure that might be able to find 'lost' jpegs?
  5. I am. It seems to be after the recent update - non 5.0 - to my Moto G 1st gen. The snap is definitely taken and can be seen disappearing off to the right of the screen, indicating that it will be in Gallery yet, when I look, it's not there! Very irritating. I downloaded a few other apps - ifCamera, FutureCam - and it doesn't seem to happen with them but I was initially put off by their interfaces and lost important pics anyway through fumbling! I ask this here as it just might be a Motorola thing; if not I'll migrate it to the General Discussion regions.

  7. After locking rotation to landscape on my rooted Moto G, installing and activation Xposed's 'Multiple Users' mod and also 'Multiple User Enabler', I attempt to set up a second account. The setup process starts but after a given period a message appears saying 'Unfortunately the procass com.motorols.process.system has stopped.' Then all I can do is reboot. The message came with either of the above apps having run. Its arrival is not dependent on what I'm doing at the moment as it comes 15-20 seconds after choosing the second user. Is this a Motorola issue or just my ignorance showing up?
  8. Many thanks for the responses, folks, but I am in the midst of house-selling and have been a bit distracted to reply immediately. Things have got worse - see http://www.modaco.com/topic/372760-comandroidsystemui-has-stopped-and-i-cant-get-into-my-moto-g/#entry2215317, which tells that the phone is now unusable and I am on the point of doing a Factory Reset. I am hoping that com.android.systemui can be replaced or the pattern lock can be disabled via ADB (or something). Going to the Fastboot menu (Power+Vol.s) and pressing Factory or Recovery or any key, just restarts the phone which goes through the boot animation and the 'upgrading' message. When in the Fastboot menu and connected to my Mac by USB, ADB says 'USB connected', and 'fastboot devices' reports 'TA8900F042' which is a bit of a relief, I guess.
  9. 'Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped' Is what I see when I try to open my rooted Moto G. The phone has been a bit fiddled with, opening on a lock screen modified with the 'Cover' app then presenting me with a pattern-lock. This having been traced by me, I get the above message and, after pressing OK, either I see the desktop for a flash and... there's that pattern lock again! Another complication but preceded by this error is that the phone is in the process of doing the 4.4.3 update. Toast appears saying 'Android is upgrading...' and 'Optimising app 1 of 1'. Left to itself, this ends and when I next look the lock-screen running 'cover' is visible. It does this each time I restart it. If the 'upgrading' message is left visible - I usually close the case cover on the message and do something else for a while - the uploading-animation stops and a long-press restart is needed. Anyone know what is going on and how to sort it out, please? Might this be an issue for ADB? Or a Factory reset?
  10. Somewhat weird stuff is starting to happen on my rooted 16GB Moto G, probably related to the various launchers, system apps and theming I've plonked in it. Most importantly, the phone freezes repeatedly (5 -6 times) after a cold restart, seeming to be cured by shutting down wifi and mobile data. With this in mind, I am considering either factory resetting it or reinstalling the stock 4.4.2 - if that is possible after unlocking & rooting it, given Motorola's heaviness re doing that - or even asking about any mods that are as stable as stock. In my old MS days, an OS reinstall was a fine cure for slowness and mess-ups. Is this still so now? What is the best strategy to clean out and keep rooted my Moto G, please?
  11. Thanks. That's where I looked. Have you "found a call recording app that works with KitKat on a Moto g"? It would seem not, as all the above express difficulty working with Moto G and I have found this to be so. But I live in hope. Maybe I should have said "has anyone found a way to get a Moto G to work with a (good) call recorder?"
  12. Has anyone found a call recording app that works with KitKat on a Moto g, rooted and unlocked?
  13. I know it's a bit late, but I only want to see what others have thought before me - and none of the 192 results will show themselves. Is this normal behaviour for year-old polls?
