  1. This is the set of kernels suitable for SFR Staraddict devices having touchscreen response issues on standard kernels shipped with custom ROMs. These kernels are configured for ATMEL MXT224_P743F touchscreens. However, it was reported that some SFR Staraddict models are using the same touchscreen as other Skate models (Synaptics or Focaltech). So if this is your case then use kernels from this thread instead: http://www.modaco.co...ll-custom-roms/ "Thanks" go to manufacturers for bringing such a chaos here... Be sure you pick one from the correct category. For CyanogenMod based ROMs two versions are available - normal and volume boosted that can be used if you find volume levels too low (be aware of distortion @ high volume levels). Use at your own risk. Flash in clockworkmod - no wipes are needed. Backup your ROM before flashing so you can easily restore your system in case of problems. 2. SlimBean ROM - Android 4.2.2 Tired of oversized ROMs bloated with countless number of features and settings? If yes then this one is for you. It was built from SlimRoms sources and contains carefully selected set of the most important and useful features. At the same time, I managed to get the total size under 150MB so this ROM fits nicely on 150MB system layouts (including gapps). Visit official site for more info: http://slimroms.net Standard LatinIME keyboard contains only English dictionary by default, but no worries. I prepared the optional packages for other languages. Choose your desired LatinIME package and flash after flashing ROM. All optional LatinIME packages also contain English. This ROM comes with HoloLauncher HD by default. Screenshots This is a rom suitable for advanced users only not whining about all the well known problems or missing features. Known issues - no Camera flash - bluetooth temperamental - no Voice input (because of armv6) - no thumbnails for recorded videos Prerequisites - ROM fits on 150MB system partition including my stripped gapps package Download - ROM: http://tinyw.in/RA0X (release 05/04/2013) - Gapps: http://tinyw.in/qpn6 (updated 29/03/2013) - Gapps Multi-DPI: http://tinyw.in/nSGc (updated 29/03/2013 - use in case of using other than stock DPI. Play store won't complain about apps incompatibilities) - LatinIME keyboard versions: Czech, German, Spanish, French, Croatian, Hungarian, Portugal, Russian, Dutch, Bulgarian, Swedish (other languages on request) - OPTIONAL: Compatible INT2EXT+ script: http://tinyw.in/Zjvl (flash after flashing rom and gapps) Installation instructions - Download ROM, Gapps ZIPs and desired LatinIME package to your SD card - Boot into clockworkmod - Backup your current ROM (optional but highly recommended) - Wipe Data / factory reset - Wipe cache - Advanced / Wipe dalvik cache - Mounts & Storage / format system (just to be sure) - install zip from SD card - choose ROM zip - install zip from SD card - choose Gapps zip - install zip from SD card - choose LatinIME package - reboot - let it settle for couple of minutes until media scanner finishes its media scanning job. Otherwise UI might be a bit laggy. Upgrade instructions - without wiping data - Download ROM, Gapps ZIPs to your SD card - Boot into ClockworkMod - Backup your current version (optional but recommended) - Wipe cache - Advanced / wipe dalvik cache - Mounts&storage / format system - install zip from SD card - choose ROM zip - install zip from SD card - choose Gapps zip - optionally flash desired LatinIME (keyboard) - reboot - if you experience stability problems or other undesired behaviour, go for fresh install!!! Reporting Bugs When reporting, please: 1) provide as much detailed info as you can: e.g. what performance settings you use, method of increasing internal memory, ... 2) provide steps to reproduce the issue (if reproduceable) 3) attach a logcat containing info related to the particular incident (use aLogcat from play store) Since I am not an Oracle I will ignore all bug reports that lack this information :) Additionally, I will not provide any support for 3rd party user-apps that don't come with the ROM. Thank you for understanding. Respect and credits go mainly to Tilal and KonstaT for doing all the dirty work to bring JellyBean to ZTE devices, the SlimRoms team, the whole androidarmv6 project team, CyanogenMod and all the others involved. Special thanks to daemond for great patches solving the remaining issues (sound routing, HW VSYNC, video playback, FM Radio, ...)
  3. ParanoidJelly - ParanoidAndroid 2.81 - Hybrid UI ROM for the ZTE Skate - Android 4.1.2 - JellyBean This is my build of ParanoidAndroid JellyBean for Skate. It's the descendant of my previous CM10 release - OctoJelly. I decided to incorporate ParanoidAndroid framework since I find it very useful regarding UI capabilities and I prefer it over plain CM10. This version of ParanoidAndroid is the latest that's based on CM framework. Paranoid team abandoned further development on top of CM framework and switched to AOSP framework. I might take a look at the new development as soon as it settles down a little (still chaotic). OctoJelly is not going to be maintained separately anymore, so please don't ask for it. If you prefer plain CM10 UI; I predefined a "Stock UI" profile in Paranoid preferences (Launch) which can be used to turn off Hybrid mode. From now on, this is the ROM I am going to make further improvements to until I move on to some new device (might happen soon). This ROM is for advanced users not whining about all the well known problems. Also check out the WTF-shooting section below. Known issues - Camera flash not working - it's unlikely to be fixed at all (at least I am not going to try anymore after couple of failed attempts) so please, don't ask for it over and over - Voice input - won't work on our device since it needs libs that are available for armv7 only. (VoiceInput for GoogleNow works) Paranoid profiles I've prepared a set of 4 preconfigured paranoid profiles which can be used to quickly switch UI type. They are accessible via Paranoid Settings / Launch menu. - Stock UI - use this one to turn off Hybrid mode and thus get Stock 240 DPI UI - Optimal UI - optimal parameters for Skate's screen size - this one is pre-set as default - Phablet UI - a bit smaller than Optimal UI - hybrid between Phone and Tablet mode - Tablet UI - the smallest Prerequisites - ROM fits on 200MB system partition including my stripped gapps package Download - ROM: http://tinyw.in/sPwH (release 03/04/2013) - Gapps: http://tinyw.in/GLkk (updated 03/04/2013) Installation instructions (upgrade from CFX2 and OctoJelly possible without wiping data) - Download ROM, Gapps ZIPs to your SD card - Boot into clockworkmod - Backup your current ROM (optional but highly recommended) - Wipe Data / factory reset - Wipe cache - Advanced / Wipe dalvik cache - Mounts & Storage / format system (just to be sure) - install zip from SD card - choose ROM zip - install zip from SD card - choose Gapps zip - reboot Upgrade instructions - without wiping data - Use Paranoid settings to backup your Paranoid settings - Download ROM, Gapps ZIPs to your SD card - Boot into ClockworkMod - Backup your current version (optional but recommended) - Wipe cache - Advanced / wipe dalvik cache - Mounts&storage / format system - install zip from SD card - choose ROM zip - install zip from SD card - choose Gapps zip - reboot - Use Paranoid settings to restore your Paranoid settings - if you experience stability problems or other undesired behaviour, go for fresh install!!! WTF-shooting I can't install apps from Play store. They show as incompatible. WTF?? 1) Go to settings / Accounts and remove your Google account 2) Launch Play store and enter your Google account details when prompted I am experiencing massive battery drain and data usage. WTF?? This is Google backup in effect. If you let it turned on during first phone setup it is now trying to download/upload your phone's data from/to Google servers. Either wait for the operation to complete or simply turn off Google backup in Settings / Bakup and restore I can't see some Google apps like Play store, Gmail even if I installed gapps package. WTF?? Your system partition might be too small to run this ROM. You need at least 200MB space on system partition. Use TPT Helper app from play store to repartition phone's internal memory. Skate_v2b layout is recommended. WARNING: TPT process completely wipes all data from internal memory. Data on SD card remain untouched. I am experiencing frequent reboots and/or apps force closing. WTF?? Blame aliens and go for clean install with full wipes. I installed this ROM but neither Camera flash nor FM radio is working. WTF?? You gotta be kidding, right? 4. This is my port of MoKeeOS ROM - based on CyanogenMod 7.2 (Android 2.3.7) This ROM is the successor of MoKeeOS v0.3 maintained by crnadakm. Since changes they made to this new version are quite remarkable compared to previous version I decided to keep the previous version as is and provide this one in a separate thread. Each version has its cons and pros and thus it's up to the user to try them both and decide for one that suits the best. Thread for v0.3 can be found here: http://www.modaco.co...s-updated-2406/ Original ROM comes with google apps already preinstalled so there is no need to flash them separately. Check the second post for change log and potential hotfixes Requirements - system partition size: at least 150MB - cache partition size: doesn't matter Download: http://tinyw.in/praW ( MIRROR ) Installation instructions - fresh install with data wipe (see below for upgrade from previous 1.10) - put rom ZIP and hotfix ZIPs if any (2nd post) to SD card - reboot to ClockworkMod Recovery - make a backup of your current rom using menu: Backup & Restore / Backup - wipe data / factory reset - advanced / wipe dalvik cache - mounts & storage / format system - install zip from sd card - choose to install rom ZIP and all hotfix ZIPs downloaded from the 2nd post - reboot Upgrade from previous 1.10 build - without data wipe / factory reset This approach will maintain all of your installed applications. In some cases there might be problems especially when using apps for linking applications to SD ext partition (S2E, etc, Link2SD is OK, see the last step) So if you are having any problems perform full wipe and install apps again instead. - put rom ZIP SD card - reboot to ClockworkMod Recovery - make a backup of your current rom using menu: Backup & Restore / Backup - wipe cache - advanced / wipe dalvik cache - mounts & storage / format system - install zip from sd card - choose to install rom - reboot - if using Link2SD - launch it and choose to recreate mount script, reboot Hint: Set font size to Extra Small for better experience Thanks go to crnadakm for finding this nice ROM, CM team, mfunz.com (Mokeetek), tilal6991 for providing the device config and all devs contributing to android community

    Powerbutton doesn't work

The problem is. When device is in deep sleep, the only way to wake it up is by power button. It's a hardware "limitation".

  8. This is my version of MoKeeOS ROM - based on CyanogenMod 7.2 (Android 2.3.7) This ROM was put in a separate new thread on Blade users' request since the original one got messy with all the updates scattered over the whole thread making it complicated to use. My initial version includes all the previous patches I've done that deal with the known issues. Previous thread can be found here: http://www.modaco.co...-updated-to-v2/ ROM comes with google apps already preinstalled so there is no need to flash them separately. Check the second post for change log and potential hotfixes Requirements - system partition size: at least 150MB - cache partition size: doesn't matter Download: http://tinyw.in/s7Bw Installation instructions - fresh install with data wipe (see below for upgrade from previous 1.10) - put rom ZIP and hotfix ZIPs if any (2nd post) to SD card - reboot to ClockworkMod Recovery - make a backup of your current rom using menu: Backup & Restore / Backup - wipe data / factory reset - advanced / wipe dalvik cache - mounts & storage / format system - install zip from sd card - choose to install rom ZIP and all hotfix ZIPs downloaded from the 2nd post - reboot Upgrade from previous 1.10 build - without data wipe / factory reset This approach will maintain all of your installed applications. If you experience undesired behaviour like bootloops or applications force closing go for fresh install with all wipes. - put rom ZIP SD card - reboot to ClockworkMod Recovery - make a backup of your current rom using menu: Backup & Restore / Backup - wipe cache - advanced / wipe dalvik cache - mounts & storage / format system - install zip from sd card - choose to install rom - reboot - if using Link2SD - launch it and choose to recreate mount script, reboot Thanks go to CM team, mfunz.com (Mokeetek) for creating such a perfect ROM, tilal6991 for providing the device config and all devs contributing to android community. Special thanks go to Shiv Prajapati, Bruja and mckc001 for being my testers since I don't own Blade.
  9. This is my S series kernel for ZTE Skate custom ROMs It should work on all known Skate models having Synaptics or Focaltech touchscreens. If your device is a SFR Staraddict (or other model) having ATMEL MXT224_P743F touchscreen then jump to this dedicated thread instead: http://www.modaco.co...ll-custom-roms/ Use at your own risk. It is not guaranteed that it will actually work on any ROM - it's impossible for me to test it on every custom ROM we have. Backup your ROM before flashing so you can easily restore your system in case of problems. Basic features - good performance - large number of governors - AXI and AHB bus overclock - decent battery life - support for newer touchscreens (Focaltech) - support for additional light/prox sensors (ONA3301, ISL29026) - two versions available for CM roms - normal and volume boosted that can be used if you find volume levels too low (be aware of distortion @ high volume levels). Changelog 10/01/2013 - S4 removed - the latest CM10/10.1 ROMs already include this kernel Changelog 15/12/2012 - CM9 S3 kernels updated for compatibility with the current PA ROM release Changelog 16/11/2012 - ICS S3 kernels updated for compatibility with native wifi tethering that has been recently fixed in my ParanoidAndroid ICS ROM Changelog 21/10/2012 - CPU Governors revised --- fixed Lagfree not scaling below 480MHz --- fixed conservative stuck at max. frequency --- fixed SavagedZen not ramping higher than 480MHz --- ondemand parameters changed to match those ZTE is using in stock ROMs --- new governor: SmartassH3 - based on SmartassV2 with parameters tuned by H3ROS (thanks) - more efficient frequency scaling - not ramping too high when not needed this could potentially result in better battery life - added compatibility hack for some newer TRULY replacement LCDs - default governor set to SmartassH3 with default min. frequency 122MHz Known issues On some Skate models you can experience strange blinking during charging animation while device is off. There's no solution for it at this moment. It's harmless, though. It is now confirmed that this is not a kernel issue but TPT repartitioning images issue. TPTs we have available (e.g., via TPT Helper) contain appsboot.mbn that is not compatible with some newer Skate models (different bootloader) causing charging animation issues or even device not being able to boot at all after applying TPT. 10. ParanoidJelly2 - ParanoidAndroid 3.+ - Hybrid UI ROM for the ZTE Skate - Android 4.2.2 This is my build of ParanoidAndroid that's based on AOSP 4.2.2. Since AOSP has no support for armv6 devices anymore I decided to go way of reusing all the necessary low-level system parts from CyanogenMod. Framework part (apps, settings, ...) is vanilla AOSP with PA specific features on top. Additionally, I ported some well-known must-have features from CM. See changelogs in the second post. This is a rom in development process suitable for advanced users only not whining about all the well known problems or missing features. Please, don't ask where the features you may know from CM are. They are simply not there. This is AOSP PA, not CM! I might port some of the most requested ones over time, but can't promise anything. After having used the initial release for some time I can safely say it's stable enough for daily use. Known issues - no Camera flash - bluetooth temperamental - no Voice input (because of armv6) - occassional graphical glitches during window animations in Browser app (might be in other apps, too) - no thumbnails for recorded videos - launcher home screen not showing at first boot - press home button to fix - and all the others I forgot about or haven't came across yet Prerequisites - ROM fits on 200MB system partition including my stripped gapps package Download - ROM: http://tinyw.in/QbOU (release 29/03/2013) - Gapps: http://tinyw.in/qpn6 (updated 29/03/2013) - Gapps Multi-DPI: http://tinyw.in/nSGc (updated 29/03/2013 - use in case of using other than stock DPI. Otherwise UI might be a bit laggy. - complete google setup and press Home if there's blank screen instead of launcher showing Upgrade instructions - without wiping data - Use Settings / Hybrid properties / Tools to backup your Paranoid settings - Download ROM, Gapps ZIPs to your SD card - Boot into ClockworkMod - Backup your current version (optional but recommended) - Wipe cache - Advanced / wipe dalvik cache - Mounts&storage / format system - install zip from SD card - choose ROM zip - install zip from SD card - choose Gapps zip - reboot - Use Settings / Hybrid properties / Tools to restore your Paranoid settings - if you experience stability problems or other undesired behaviour, go for fresh install!!! 11. Sorry, I no longer provide support, neither do new builds anymore. I don't have skate for almost a year. I have a feeling that the dialog layout has been fixed in some later official PA release, though.
  12. Just a little heads up for MTK6589 owners running Android 4.2.1 Introduction The app utilizes amazing Xposed framework coded by recognized developer rovo89 which, briefly, provides interface for injecting code into any app, including system services. This means, it allows to modify behaviour of applications and system services at run-time. No need to hack apps the usual way by decompiling, hacking and recompiling, anymore. One of the biggest advantages of GravityBox is that it is not bound to any specific device. Actually, it should run on any MTK6589 4.2.1 ROM which is close enough to AOSP. Feature highlight GravityBox provides 2 main groups of features: Fixes - help to fight typical MTK6589 bugs like: --- Date&Time settings crash --- Caller ID mismatch --- Split conversation in messaging --- Wakelock in calendar app periodically turning on the screen --- Missing TTS settings in Language&Input --- Missing extended developer options Mods - the set of additional useful features that make using the system more easy and fun --- Statusbar QuickSettings tile management --- Statusbar color and transparency --- Additional QuickSettings tiles: Sync on/off, WiFi AP on/off, GravityBox shortcut, Torch, Network mode (2G/3G/2G+3G switch) --- Battery indicator style --- Low battery warning policy --- Auto-hiding of signal icons for empty SIM Slots --- Advanced power-off menu (reboot, recovery) --- Volume key cursor control --- Skip tracks by volume key long-press while screen off (thanks to rovo89) --- Button for clearing all recent tasks at once --- Fullscreen caller photo --- CRT screen off animation ... more to come Visit official thread for more info: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=2316070
  13. This is my fresh build of CyanogenMod 7.2.0 (STABLE) for ZTE Skate based on Android 2.3.7 It's "vanilla CM7". This means I did not remove nor modify any components and I didn't add any additional ones. This build is running my latest S3 kernel. It is considered to be stable and suitable for everyday use. Problems should be expected in Google Sky Map Google Maps, and some other compass related satnav applications seem to work OK! Requirements - system partition size: at least 150MB - cache partition size: doesn't matter Download ROM: http://tinyw.in/OycH Google Apps: http://tinyw.in/Plw0 ( MIRROR1 ) Installation instructions - fresh install wit data wipe / factory reset (see below for upgrade) - put rom ZIP and gapps ZIP to SD card - reboot to ClockworkMod Recovery - make a backup of your current rom using menu: Backup & Restore / Backup - wipe data / factory reset - advanced / wipe dalvik cache - mounts & storage / format system - install zip from sd card - choose to install rom ZIP - install zip from sd card - choose to install gapps ZIP - reboot Upgrade from my previous CM7 build - without data wipe / factory reset This approach will maintain all of your installed applications. In some cases there might be problems especially when using apps for linking applications to SD ext partition (S2E, etc, Link2SD is OK, see the last step) So if you are having any problems perform full wipe and install apps again instead. - put rom ZIP and gapps ZIP to SD card - reboot to ClockworkMod Recovery - make a backup of your current rom using menu: Backup & Restore / Backup - wipe cache - advanced / wipe dalvik cache - mounts & storage / format system - install zip from sd card - choose to install rom ZIP - install zip from sd card - choose to install gapps ZIP - reboot - if using Link2SD - launch it and choose to recreate mount script, reboot Proximity senzor fixes (black screen during call issue) These fixes are for all those having problems with standard proximity calibration available in Settings. If standard calibration doesn't provide desired results try flashing one of the following predefined proximity data files. They could solve prox senzor issues. 1) Prox update 1: http://tinyw.in/Mf19 if prox senzor still doesn't behave as it should, go for the next one 2) Prox update 2: http://tinyw.in/mW5V Flash in clockworkmod, no wipes needed Hotfixes - None at this moment Addons 1) Volume boost patch - this patch will boost the overall volume and change volume scaling levels. Slight distortion at max level should be expected. Download: http://tinyw.in/65k5 Flash in clockworkmod, no wipes needed Thanks go to CM team, tilal6991 for providing the device config and all devs contributing to android community
  14. Sorry, but I don't do any Skate development anymore.

    android 4.4 for zte skate?

This will never happen. Since there is no such source code for armv6 devices. Simply because they were never meant to run android beyond gingerbread. They are definitely not going back to rewrite armv6 specific components just because Google announced kitkat runs on 512mb devices. It's not a charity what manufacturers are doing. They need to sell new devices.

    android 4.4 for zte skate?

Camera, hwcomposer and more. These things are currently terribly hacked. I just wanted to point out that Googles statements about kk being available for weaker devices is pointless here, unless there's a necessary support from manufacturer to provide kernel + other necessary hw specific libs.
  17. Have you tried my GravityBox xposed module on it, yet? ;)
  18. Links are OK. Goo.im is moving servers... Filesystem is currently broken.

    android 4.4 for zte skate?

People should be aware of a fact, that there's a bunch of proprietary binaries (libraries) for which there's no source code available thus can't be adjusted for compatibility with android beyond gingerbread.
  20. Only stock tpt for your phone can fix this. Any tpt from helper app has the same boot loader incompatible with your skate model

  22. It's not kernel related. This happens when incompatible bootloader is flashed when doing tpt. Search tpt helper app thread. I mentioned it there some time ago.

    Xposed Framework

Yep. I've been developing my own module for quite some time. But it's not for the Skate. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316070
  24. Great job, indeed. I can imagine how much effort had to be put into all of these features you listed, especially when you are limited by doing things at smali level. Hats off, man.
