  1. Yessss :)I CAM HALF PRESSED .... surely this is why Technolover said "Focus" and neither "Camera" (too vague) nor "Snapshoot" (wrong). I had the same issue and I was near to beleive a wrong flash of recovery could have changed the combo (which I assume we can think is a firmware/hardware feature I never read one can change).
  2. Rebirth. I had a nand backup of the stock 4.013 installation: I reflashed and ./adb pull /system/app ~/Documents/Liquid/acer Then I added AcerSyncHelper.apk and AcerSync.apk into a Gingerounay-3.0-CopyCustom.zip (/system/app folder) and reflashed. Et voilà
  3. Hi all I reached to rebuild all my phone with a working girgerounay3.0 but contacts import doesn't work to local storage. After import my fresh (from before crash) .vcf backup from the SDcard, the phone book always says "You have no contact to display". In phonebook display options I only have SIM. In "Accounts and Sync" I can only select for add account "Entreprise" (exchange I think), "FacebookEvent" and "Google" , but not "Telephone". I remember I had to install acersync from tabootools but now nothing happens (although I don't use any sync to pc synchro, because I switched to linux since a long time and acersync is Windows only). I just export contacts some times to sdcard. What to do please? [EDIT] numbering from the phone app or typing a recipient name in the SMS app, matching contacts are shown fine, which means the import worked, but the phonebook still can't see them. Thank you
  4. Please help I tryied to create a swap between my 30GB FAT32 and 2GB ext3 with gparted, when the sdcard was shared via USB. This succeeded but the fat32 partition didn't mount anymore and then the phone said I had a problem with the card (the ext3 partition seems still OK). After reboot the phone looped on the splash animation, with or without the card. Now with or without the card the combo CAM+Vol_UP+power gives the vibror vibers 2 short times and the screen shows "USB download mode". Without the card with combo CAM+Vol_down+Power I get "SD download mode" failed. I think I can restore the card (It seems I reached to recover my data with testdisk from a dd image I made after the crash) but I didn't yet wrote changes to the sdcard itself. Is it possible I restore my phone without breaking all + reinstall all? I have a folder /clockworkmod/backup/2012-06- with .img and .md5 files inside. [EDIT] hmmm the image.img md5 doesn't match with the LiquidMT 3 one from vache: maybe it is stock one.
  5. Hi all My S120 is still alive. I feel I miss a swap partition but I didn't created it in the beginning. I have a 32GB sd card which is currently showing this in GParted : sdb1 fat32 label: LIQUID 27.22Gio (used 11.61 Gio - unused 15.72 Gio) flags: lba sdb2 ext3 label: sd-ext 1.91Gio (used 298.1Mio - used 1.62 Gio) no flag Can I add a swap now? How to do without breaking everything? Thank you.
  6. This link will die one month after last download: http://dl.free.fr/gTm79Jb7R
  7. Didn't try a handsfree mic. I'll try, thank you for the idea. An app to set the general input sensitivity would also allow lower volume signal to voice calls... great for live gigs :) for friends that don't even have MMS possibility.
  8. Same here. I tried with all output volume settings available: none had any influence over input sensitivity... what would have be strange.
  9. Hi Is there a way to minimize the gain for the microphone? Because there is heavy clipping in huge sound environments like rock concerts; I'd like to recover the ability to share some moments of music I had in my hold cell with remote friends. Even the Sound Recorder app is clipping a lot and generates unusable files; Thank you
  10. Just an idea as I'm very newb in all that android thing. You could try to use the "Permissions" app to dig. Maybe something related to WAKE_LOCK or VIBRATE. Again this this just an idea. For me I completly disabled the vibror with standard options (I mean "not with Permissions") and I never met your symptom.
  11. Hi I ran a big issue with gingerounay 3 ; I lost wifi (MAC address unavailable) . wifi disables after about 15 seconds after I enable. restore with TitaniumBackup pro and elder nandroidbackup didn't help; Only the first nandroidbackup from before gingerounay brought back wifi working; Acer download tool 4;0;13 didn't work at all, stating not enough 20MB internal storage although the phone said 120MB free Did anybody had this wifi issue? Thanks
  12. With gingerounay, you can use either android or acer contact/dialer (select with taboo tools). If you want to use acer contacts/dialer (for e.g. quick dial feature), i beleive you need acersync (choose with taboo tools/apps) to store contacts in the phone instead of the SIM, then create a "phone" account from contacts app options; Then you can export your cantacts, maybe import your previously exported (no advise with titaniumbackup, sorry)
  13. Hi boys I reset my LiquidMT Gingeroonay 3.0 then I lost wifi: it goes down disabled 15s after I enable it. Maybe after I restored access points with TitaniumBackup; It seem I miss a bin file in /data/misc/wifi; Although, there is here a softmac file whose cat shows the good MAC (advance wireless settings show MAC Adresse "Not available"; Is my Liquid dead? Thanks for help
  14. You have the way to do it all native in ubuntu (w/o VM) here http://sorrodje.alte...rom-sdk-android all in french but screen shots may help if you're easy enough with ubuntu. Just ask me here if there is a step for which you'd need translation. Bye
  15. 100% full hw working? wifi, tether, notif leds, carriers(I mean phone calls providers) , fm radio, etc.... I didn't ;), and I didn't see vache is doing. I just spoke about I couldn't "share" my question on their forum (I'm not a coder, and even if I was, I'd need a goog account to access github isn't it?) What I said I could import my 215 contacts into android contacts, but no group support neither quick dial. And then switching back to acer contacts/dialer prevented to add a group to an existing contact, and only allowed to add new contact in the sim, as long as I didn't reinstalled AcerSync. Maybe the lack of features I want are related to an old android contacts/dialer, or they are available out of acer's soft in other free and ad-free third party apps, fee-lessly available elsewhere than gmarket. My metal is my job tool, and as I'm not a coder nor geek enough, I can't spent too much time in trials, go forth/back roms, just to find ten days later this or that doesn't work, when I've forget how I reached to backup data/install rom after spending days to reach the goal. OK Lens, atm i must admit I choosed the vache rom because I was very puzzled by what I read in ten+ forums. But I promise I'll install your CM9 as soon as it is no more beta. Bye bye Lens, have a good evening (you're in Tomsk isn't it?) and thanks again for your shiny job.
  16. Accordind to what I've understood, his reco is only CWM4.0.0.8, and his rom 3.0 is based on the last 4.0.13 stock. So that's maybe why he hasn't anything great to share as he uses the stock RILs (and other raw acer's undisclosed code?). He hasn't to deal with the problems that other rom makers meet and he provided a full hardware working rom, the only "plus" being the rooted HS, and so, the ability to remove some bloatware and add the apps we want. CM team is not so great when it comes to share, as I couldn't even create an account on their forum because they refuse my email address. Maybe they require a gmail address, but nowhere it is stated in forum rules and policy, and I DON'T want a gmail account, I found no way to ask them if this is the real reason, so no way to post there why they officially support none Acer device (I still wander why). And I also see they are not very friendly with you Lens. Lens, if you reach to port ICS cm9 to the Liquid metal on your own, will it be possible to use it without a google account? With vache rom, I had to switch back to Acer contacts/dialer and reinstall AcerSync to have my contacts back in the phone, not only in the SIM? I couldn't use the standard contacts/dialer because it doesn't support neither groups (I use for sms) nor quick dial. Bye bye, and I wish you great success in your hard work.
  17. Done for my LiquidMT: vache's recoveryMT3.0 and his Gingerounay3.0 which seems the only one having the whole hardware working. It is based on the stock 4.0.13
  18. Then after returning to stock rom, you'll have to flash the custom recovery before the new cust rom. The way you flash the custom reco depends on what system you rely, win or linux. The linux way, worked for me and my Liquid MT (Vache's recoMT3.0 and Gingerounay3.0): http://sorrodje.alte...rom-sdk-android
  19. Hi Lens I'm total newb in these andrioid roms reco etc... so I read all this topic, and it was a hard headache (I hope you know what I mean if you remember your own 1st steps). Therefore I have some questions, I wish you'll get some minutes to answer: 1) About recovery, "status goal" you say. What does it mean? 2) Elsewhere in this topic, you say things about hardware 2.2/2.3. Where can I find my MT hardware in my Liquid MT device (at the moment, stock 4.0.13)? I looked in parameters menu, but I did not find. Maybe I miss the good place (I see IMEI SV: 03, Acer APN version 1.191-1, FLEX version GEN1.001, SKU GEN1, Device info version 1.0 and other stuff like S120 Qualcomm 800 7230 512 512 480 800 MC0.0.18). 3) After reading the topic and learned the bugs and problems in CM7, I saw in one last page that CM7 is abandoned. Would you advise a newbie to wait for your official CM9 for day to day usage? 4) And a last one: I read from you somewhere that CM team (or XDA, I don't remember) don't like Acer. Could you say us why or where to read from them? In fact we can't find any CM official work for Acer on their site, nor a dedicated XDA topic for the MT) Thank you from France.
  20. Uploaded my pack of beer to Lens ;) Is the MT CM in french lang? Shall me to loose my contacts when i have not a google account but I have make a nandroid backup with the recovery of Mr Vache 3.0? Is it worth or mandatory to remove the vache recovery and remplace with the cwm5.0.2.8? Thank you
  21. @Cararrina, if something goes wrong, you always have fastboot to recover your device. I'm not sure if installing the Acer ROM will erase your recoveryMT. And if it doesn't override your custom recovery, you won't be in stock conditions, isn't it? ;) My question now, please: what would you MT users select for ext size for a 32GB sdcard? 512M, 1/2/4G? And ext2/3/4, is it that important? I know the 2 last are journaling FS, but I neither know the diff between them, nor if/how gingerbread deals with that not to harm the sd. I'm ready to partition, I just miss these answers and an other that is not in the guide about restoration: in which partition do I paste back all the data that I backed up to my pc? Assuming I see no info on it, I guess it is to the fat, right? Because 95% around couldn't paste to ext from Windows. (btw, I'm not ready to flash a ROM, so I'll stick stock GB-2.3.6 as long as I have not found from forums 2 or 3 custom roms 100% working for my MT). Thanks
  22. Hi friends I'm a noob to android and I've just installed recoveryMT3.0 with ubuntu with this french help. Then searching the next step to free, root and unbloat my MT I find there is a newer recovery (v5.0 with cwm5.0.2.8) released by a guy (who credits this very post) in this very forum, but I can't find the changelogs that would give me any info/guidance if it's worth switching or just wait our good laughing cow to release an update of it's own. Is there a race within devs in recoveries? Or it is just something related to devs' other priorities, e.g. focusing on something new, like working on ICS for the MT? Comments please? Sorry if silly question.
  23. Sorry, I didn't see the github link to sources, then my firefox 11 crashed when I visit. fixed with ff12beta. Now I've seen the nikolas' github repo, I have the very question that comes back to my mind: why do I am still feeling there's ostracism against Acer from cyanogen? Where could I read something about that? Thank you
  24. erm, there seem the sources/changelogs are undisclosed. Still stucked wandering what are the diffs between superuser, z4root, unrevoked, supernandroot and maybe other stuff when i thought installing a CWM recovery would root the phone...
  25. Hi metal ones I'm just registered here, just to make cyanogen guys know that there is one other pending user, regard to the job of Vache and You Lens-Flare, and the cool sorrodje guy in the french ubuntu forum who held my hand in mind, so that I've just reached flashing recoveryMT3.0 (based on cmw, if I understand something). Now I saw it was "so easy" (I wanted 100% linux pathway), I'm just wandering if it's worth flashing to this new state-of-the-[he]art V5.0. Maybe I should find the changelogs from stock cwm releases between and And (maybe I abuse?) if the root privilege I got since some hours is the same thing as installing superuser? Glad I found such enthusiasts. There seem to be girls around too, cool. Bye-bye
