Hi all,

I am getting the PhoneUSB Detect Failed error while upgrading the ROM. I have tried the samsung modem driver over and over again. Even formatted my windows laptop and tried again. I tried downloading an official ROM from the samsung website but it says Incorrect Software version. I cant change the version on my phone as the phone is in offline mode and will not come on. how do i know which official ROM to download. My S/N is R6WQ855603V. I had bought it from Bangkok.

Please HELP!!!

Apparently it only works with generic (non operator) firmwares...

I want to flash to i900XBIC1_updater_xp.EXE

and try to change the i900XBIC1 to XBHL1 in the update.exe file. but incorect version

can some one help me i change the version en the regeditor on the mobile to

Problem Solved, i extracted the updater.exe file using Packo's toll EXEecuter 2.1.exe then i assembelled it again, then the updater works as charm.

I flashed my Omnia 2 days ago with the Singapore ROM DZIA5/DXIA5 from:

It works flawlessly! It also upgraded my phones firmware to DXIA5 from XXHL1

There's a few new features, connected home, google launcher, online widgets on the today screen etc.

After flashing it auto detected that I'm using virgin mobile and asked me if I wanted to set the mms settings to virgin.

I think this version is something between that will please everyone needs. I hope you are happy with it.

- Increased pagepool size to 14mb so you will notice that you have less ram but the system runs much faster than before. (Keyboard pop-up faster, less lags on Titanium, apps open faster etc). It is an ideal number i think for Omnia. Maybe i will make 16mb later if you dont report any problems opening big apps like Opera or gps.

- Added zylonite battery driver to show percentage %1 thanks to kabkab and battery icon thanks to Khuanchai and gianton.

- Optimized more files to achieve better space.

- No need to click Mortscript anymore. It is registered by default.

- Removed VoiceCommand, as non-English friends have problems when install their language. I will provide cabs later.

- Added more registry tweaks on sensitivity and incall volume.

- Added larger callerID screen when the phone it is locked thanks to condorx

- Added SDTuneup optmization for faster and sdcard reading.

- Updated CCom and Titanium System panels to latest. System panel should handle now sdcard 8GB+.

As far as i know, you can use any ROM (correct me if i'm wrong). I've updated my Omnia from DXHJ1 to DZIA5 with no problems. Try to do following:

• Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialer
  
• With the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#
  
• Select 'Preconfiguration'
  
• Enter code *#81230*# and select OK
  
• Select 'Singapore', with the default Operator
  
• Accept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET
  
• Go to http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp and select Singapure.
  
• Download DZIA5 ROM (january 2009).
  
• After flashing do preconfiguration again as described above, just this time select you country :)
  

At least it worked for me.

You can flash to any i900 rom provided you've got xp to flash.. if not vmWare is highly recommended (with xp loaded). Make sure you read all the info about flashing (stickied) and understand the steps..

Well, i'm probably the wrong person to ask if you want a totally objective answer (of course i prefer my own roms), but look through the threads and find a rom that you like the look of and that's got what you normally use.. have a look round, you can always try several different one's, the omnia can be flashed all day long (I flash mine at least once a day).. Just make sure to follow procedures when flashing and always have more than 80% charge :) ..

i bought this mobile in germany last year and updatet to Anzo Romárium version 23088 ClassicTitanium+M2D

its working nice but the question is what about the update phone part? do i need to do this and where can i find official update?
