Vodafone to Sell iPhone in UK and Ireland

If you think having two mobile phone operators offering iPhone in UK is enough, think again!

Vodafone has now announced that iPhone 3G will be available to Vodafone customers. Now we'll have iPhone wars for prices and tariff deals!

Vodafone and Apple today confirmed that they have reached agreement to bring iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to the UK and Ireland in early 2010.

Beginning today, Vodafone UK and Vodafone Ireland customers can register their interest in iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS at www.vodafone.co.uk/iphone and www.vodafone.ie/iphone respectively. Pricing, tariffs and availability information will be announced locally in the future.

Vodafone now offers iPhone through thirteen of its operating companies.

Looks like Apple stands to make lots of profit from this deals, taking in percent of the sales from O2, Orange and Vodafone.

But is this a good move by Apple? The iPhone market is already overcrowded, will there be enough customers left for them to buy iPhone?

Orange plans to offer it late 2009 - does it mean Vodafone is leaving it a bit too late with the release date of early 2010?
