Are you extracting ALL the files from the archive pushfiles.zip ?? Instead of just opening the archive and running recovery-linux.sh ??

You need to extract everything to a folder, open a Terminal, and then run the commands from the folder which everything is extracted from

ie

cd pushfiles

sudo ./adb-linux kill-server

sudo ./recovery-linux.sh

done

I extracted everything and on second command i get "Sudo : Unable to execute ./adb-linux : No such file or directory"

You need to extract everything to a folder, open a Terminal, and then run the commands from within gnome-terminal (Accessories -> Terminal), and do it from the folder which everything is extracted from

ie

cd pushfiles

sudo ./adb-linux kill-server

sudo ./recovery-linux.sh

done

okay, I've managed to do that, my Desire is still in Red Triangle mode, and in teminal it says 'push: files/system/bin/linker -> /system/bin/linker'

Quick question regarding the Apps2SD install...

Do I need to do anything to the SD Card?? (partitioning, etc), or am I good to just leave as-is after installing the 2nd part??

Great work though Paul, very well done

I would like to know this too? Anyone offer any insight. I went into recovery mode and installed it via the same method as rootedupdate.zip. I assume this was correct?

As WinMo convert I wonder if rooting my desire will allow to install application on sd card?

To be honest I was suprised that it is not possible with standard rom,

Although... I don't understand why it can't find the adb-linux file... its there and also set as an executable according to your output :|

Maybe try re-downloading the pushfiles.zip file and extracting it to a new folder??

Sorry... I can't help much more than that...

**Edit**

I'm running Ubuntu 64bit edition...

Yes, its in post #2, Apps2SD or A2SD does this.

Some people think 2.2 will have it built in.

ignore that SDK thingy, really cant be arsed explaining.. i am using virtual box can like see adb-linux file with ls. can even cat adb-linux file but for some reason i cant run it says its not there. going to to take the ubuntu live cd approach see if that works. i know a fair bit about linux as well but this one is a bit of head f*uk

Try to set "adb-linux" executable bit first:

chmod +x ./adb-linux
or
sudo chmod +x ./adb-linux

if runing as unprivileged user.

Same way I installed it (as-per instructiong on the 2nd post)...

But I've since tested by installing 2 apps, the Phone memory went down, and nothing appeared on the SDCard.

So.. any help on fully configuring Apps2SD would be very helpful indeed

To enable A2SD just create a second partition that is EXT3.

radshag, it's not seeing your device plugged in at all... re: Linux issues, I tested on Karmic 64 bit and it was fine.

Try su'ing to the root user and running it perhaps?

I'm getting "device not found" under Knoppix 6.2. How can I make Linux recognize the device?

I have tried Ubuntu, but that gives me "adb-linux; file not found" despite that the file is definitely there.

Did you solve the device not found issue. I am getting it too...
