Is it possible to install this r7 over r6 using the recovery tool?

I mean Im using Sh4d0w940´s upd8-r6-2.1-pulse-a2sd+-vanilla-signed.zip, can I go to recovery tool and flash with this one?

Regards.

You will probably need to do a wipe before installing this.

I did a wipe and a davlink wipe after that I tried to flash and got this error message:

"E:can´t symlin/system/xbin/

E:Failure at line 12:

symlink busybox SYSTEM:xbin/

Installation aborted. "

Ok, that is weird as busybox is definitely in the rom and in the right location.

Don't install, just copy the vending.apk to /system/app with RootExplorer, and that's all :(

It's working for me...

But you've to take the vending.apk form Pauls r7. Optional you can take the MarketNotification.apk form Pauls ROM too.

U can use e.g Astromanager too, it's 4free

Can these be downloaded and installed without Market? Having no Market make downloading these a problem.

My son does really like the Rom. thanks Sh4d0w940

this rom is my favourite so far. Today I even installed Darktremor a2sd from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=670087 and the phone feels a lot more responsive. I have a Class 6 8Gb card and dalvik cache moved to it, so I guess this is helping.

How do I add this to a rom, just copy the files to it and then copy the contents from the update-script into the one in the rom?

also does ext3 and 4 work now

Flash the zip through recovery.

ext4 doesn't work as the kernel doesn't support it. ext2 and ext3 do work.

Thanks how do I know it is using this version of a2sd over the one that it previously had or has it completely overwritten it

Also does swap work now

You can test if it's using the new a2sd by opening adb shell and doing

/system/bin/a2sd check

Swap needs kernel support. Until we have an MCR kernel, we won't have swap :)

At A2sd status report all of them have * by them except for swap so does that mean its working?

Yes. If any of them have an exclamation mark, then there is a problem. Stars mean it's OK.

By the way, this moves dalvik-cache to SD by default. If you have anything less than a Class 4 SD card then you might want to move it back to data using the instructions on the xda website.
