So, how did we get to the solution that 1 percent of 272 = 2.72?

**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 272 is. We know that 100% of 272 is, well, just 272.**Step 2:**If 100% of 272 is 272, then we can get 1% of 272 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 272 / 100. This is equal to 2.72. Now we know that 1% is 2.72.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 272 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 2.72 times 1 = 2.72. That's all there is to it!
