I get the following message when I boot into system recovery and execute the update: -- OTA update Finding update package... Opening update package... Verifying update pakage Installing update... Now hota starting... Verifying current system... Checking patch files... assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/BeyondTheSkyTheme.apk". "93c2e49fd40cc2bde3a9f5dd2e30df16eb9490") pid=122. staturs=1792 E:Error in /sdcard/HwOUC/update.zip (Status 7) Formatting /cache... Installation aborted. Huawei have not implemented the 2D hardware acceleration for OpenGL. The UI does not draw as quickly as it otherwise might and battery life is also impacted. Yeah, its a budget phone, but omitting support for fairly major hardware features is pretty lame, even so. Qualcomm released the Adreno 200 2D driver in March, so it is possible that other devs may sort it out, but the G300 is currently suffering frm lack of interest from the Android hacking community atm... Cutting out binaries from prebaked ROM from Huawei and putting into one piece is a nonsense. And old kernel sources are meant to be for Gingerbread, not for ICS.
