Flashed 8.2 with the GPS fixed. After a dirty flash that gave some problems I did a clean install and no issues.

Looks a bit smoother to me and yes, the GPS finds my position real quick.

I don't see differences about speed between 8.1 and 8.2....

Them are both great. Someone else prefer 8.1?

NFC does not seem to work on G510 running latest Slimkat 8.2 (clean install).

Anyone else has the same problem?

I cant even find option for that.

8.2 has fixed GPS problem and few things, but nothing for performance or something like that.

NFC support is experimental and it's something I can't test as I only have a Y300.

The development of the NFC support is being done by Y300-0100 who has sent me another patch this morning which may help. This patch adds the following new line in build.prop so try setting it and reboot then see if it helps.

Only g510-0100 have NFC chip. If you try transfer with your g510-0100 and another NFC enabled phone it doesn't meen that problem is withg510. Some phones comes from box with semi loaded NFC chips and unusable state. Which leave them useless regarding NFC.

And you can find it to enable NFC in settings / more.

@chil360: You can make a build with Chromium WebView instead of Classic WebView? Is for confirm or deny the theory of "The new GPU drivers can fix the issue of Chromium WebView". Only if you don't mind. Thanks.

For all of us who wanted the theme engine

Official Statement

Theme Engine

After I accidentally a few days ago all my posts

deleted here again the Official Statement on

Theme Engine

Due that last months a lot discussions were

going on about the "Theme Engine" we want to

do a short official statement.

1. Do not worry, we are still investigating the

Theme Engine and it may will come.

2. There are some points we still need to figure

out.

- The future rolle of TRDS which does not make

sense in its current state to combine with the

Theme Engine

- We differe a lot from the mainstream custom

roms. Hence we have a lot differences on

graphics, color redirects etc. etc. We need to

decide if we go more mainstream and follow it

to have theme compatibility to CM themes or if

we strictly say: only Slim themes

- In addition to that we need to revisit all our

color options. Are they still usefull? Should we

remove or adapt them?

3. We support a lot older devices. Current

theme engine solutions are still heavy in using

resources. We need and want to resolve that.

4. New android version is shortly before official

release. It is clear now that the changes are

that huge that you will see for a while on no

custom rom a theme engine till it is adapted to

the new aosp release. Of course we currently

investigate if it makes sense in this short time

to develop further although we know that most

will be obsolete in 2 months.

5. And last and most important point. You all

know that quality is a very high aspect of our

work. That we only want to release features

which are working, future proof and bug free,

even if it needs a bit longer to release it. This

counts for theme engine as well.

6. Please respect we are not PA, CM or one of

the thousand mainstream kanger roms.

SlimRoms is SlimRoms and will stay to their

politics and workflow. Theme engine is not

gone. But we have other ideas for it and want

to full fill all the above points to get for our

users the best experience possible.

Thanks for your attention

Now have Beam working on latest slimkat build.

Copied libpn544_fw.so to /system/vendor/firmware/

Copied EEDATA.cfg to /data/misc/nfc/ AND /data/nfc/

Coppied android.hardware.nfc.hce.xml from /system/etc/etc/permissions/ to /system/etc/permissions/

ALSO set permissions in /data/misc/nfc AND /data/nfc to drwxr-xr-x

(don't forget to set file permissions the same as original, some like ESfile explorer seem to do it for you now)

Can someone please check (who has 2 nfc phones or devices) please check this just to make sure i haven't fluked it?

Yesterday a strange thing happened. After installing the fixed GPS image (toghether with updated gapps and car kit) , I proceeded to remove some system apps with Slimsizer, as I always do. They were browser, mail, exchange, slim file manager, calc. After the reboot I lost almost all of Nova settings: widgets, shortcuts, folders in the app drawer... there was the initial setup with the two red and blue shortcuts to restore a nova backup or import a desktop layout... The background didn't change, and also the custom icon set remained.

What could it be?

Wbrambley made some changes in Y300-0100´s G510 liquidsmooth ROM, and said he got NFC beam working now:

Chil, do you think you will be able to include these changes in the next G510 slimkat weekly?

Unfortunately I have no second phone to test beaming, but I would like to test my G510-100 with some tags.

Tag not working, at least for me.

I originally got beam working on Chil360 latest rom and posted it on Y300-100's thread as he has been doing all the hard work on it.

I'm confused.

By default, where does SlimKat install its user apps?

The external "internal" storage or the SD card?

I've ticked the "Use SD card" yet I'm still confused as my FIFA 12 'backup' asked me to re-download the game again, although the game data is already in my SD card.

EDIT: Alright. Maybe my FIFA 12 backup corrupted  #sad

Other games are working as usual.

EDIT 2: FIFA 15: UT is playable!  ;)  but with low framerate. No FC at all  :D
