Stuck with Orange ROM 1.6

Hello,

I´m quite new to the Smartphone-stuff - anyway I managed to do some things. For example I managed to upgrade my phone to the newest UK-Rom (1.6.??), which works fine on my phone.

However....the i-Mate ROM seemed better, so I thought about downgrading, but this didn´t work. The phone just gets a blank white screen, and the upgrader simply hangs.

So I did some research and found the following guide explaining the downgrade problem of the 1.6 (http://smartphone.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=103285)

Then of course I tried this method, but unfortunately this has been unsuccessful - I can´t even complete the first rom-flash - instead I get the following error:

"Error 100: Incompatible image

blablabla - you´re about turning your rom from.. (yeah - I know - these aren´t the exact words :D )

Model: ORG

Rom Version:

Selected image:

Model: TAO CABALLERO

Rom Version: 1.50 "

With just leaving me the option to exit - great :-D

Does someone have any other idea, about what to try? Could it have to do with the ROM-Patcher I used (for decertifying the 1.6 ROM-Image) ?

I appreciate any help.

Best regards and thanks in advance

Jens

I´ve found the answer in the meantime - it was also hidden in this forum. Well...should have searched longer I guess.

Anyway - I´ll post the solution here too, just in case someone gets the same problem:

Basically I followed these instructions:

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=382940

Unfortunately the link isn´t working anymore, but there´s a workaround:

Instead of the 1.35 ROM you can also use the Danish 1.36 ROM (both orange) - which you can still grab at http://static.orange.dk/spv_13624.exe

Then you just overwrite the orange 1.6 ROM file (NK.nbf) with the 1.36 Danish one, and you´ll get the same result.

Have fun :D
