Woah! Could these guys be any more blatant? :)

Stephan Schmidt from Smartphone-Web is over in Singapore for the CommunicAsia event and has snapped some juicy pics of some of TechFaith Wireless' upcomming devices.

Oh, one other thing, they bear a striking resemblance to some very popular devices.... <_>

TFW's take on the Motorola SLVR apparently has 512MB onboard memory ( :) ), a measley 1.3MP camera, a miniSD slot (internal/external?) and will be tri band. No QVGA though!

Their version of the Samsung i320 will run Windows Mobile 5.0 for PocketPC (not Smartphone) and therefore will have a touchscreen. No further details available on this as yet.

They also had a rather cheap and tacky looking clone of the HTC Universal knocking about. Again, no further details available on this as yet.

They seem to keep changing their devices on the Tech Faith site, like this once recently added.

What sounds strange is all their devices claim to have 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM so a combined total of 1GB

in a handset when others are struggling to fit 128MB

Well, it's about time we started seeing some good looking Windows powered devices. I just hope they're well made, reliable and make it over to our little part of the world.

Oh and as for the "optional" stuff, they are an ODM so the options are probably for the carriers.

I agree totally

True.. but why would a carrier opt between a 1.3mp camera and a 2.0mp CMOS camera :)

Weren't these phones reported in the news section about a couple of months ago? If I recall the thinking back then was that the memory is reported in Mb not MB, so 512 Mb of ROM or RAM is actually 64MB, the same as everyone else.

Looks like they're just messing around pumping out as many designs as they can. Note how practically none of the devices we've seen are actually seen working. My guess would be that they are "testing the water" to see how carriers pick up on their designs, and only very few will actually make it to the production line.
