Hi,

I have two questions about MPX200:

  1. Can I use it as GSM/GPRS modem for my laptop? (I am doing it with my SPV E100)
  2. There is rumor that says that if you unlocking the US version of the phone (GSM 1800/1900) it unlocks youn the "hidden" European frequency - GSM 900 MHZ, is it true? Does someone tried it?
Thanks.

Yes, you can use it as a modem for your laptop. Just search for "mpx200 modem" on google or something and yes, you can unlock the 900Mhz band on all MPx200 phones. I have used my mpx200 as a modem before and i have the 900Mhz band unlocked.

Unlocking the 900Mhz band is not proven, a few of the early AT&T mpx200 units were tri-band but supposidly the later versions were only dual-band which was a hardware design and not software.
