Thanks. Using the ODEX version and it runs smoothly so far. Really like the softbuttons in the status bar (moved it to the bottom and it works quite nicely).

and this is still actual for odex version ?

ODEX VERSION -this version has usb host ?

usb host mode support is withdraw as it breaks the power management..

the phone wont enter idle state.

We could tweaks the PM but amendment is needed by the Atheno Wifi module, otherwise the amendment breaks wifi.

Unfortunately, we don't actually got the source. So I am forced to drop it .

Wait so Odexed ROM's are better?

Thanks!

probably difference will be seen only at first boot when cache will be builded.

later difference probably will not be noticeable.

The real benefit of ODEXing is saving running memory. around 20MB -30MB which is crucial to the 256mb blade.

Other than that the performance is nearly no diff at all with the normal version.

What are the main changes from n257?

Is new camer driver working correctly (for new 5Mpix camera)

What are disadvantages of Odexed ROM in relation to Deodexed ROM?

lol, yeah there's not much worth looking at in cm7 right now, i only built my 15dec to make sure that the libsurfaceflinger revert had worked and that we could build the kernel from github still - as tom_g never uploaded the .config, so i built with config.gz i extracted from patch4.

Care to share the config? Too lazy to find the .zip and extract it from there ;)

What are disadvantages of Odexed ROM in relation to Deodexed ROM?

the ROM is bigger - bigger system space (partition) needed.

I guess in a way (regarding the quote below) it's like trading RAM for ROM MB :P

so how come users report huge difference in between odexed and deodexed ROMs?

Definetly not placebo. CM7 has never ran as smooth to me as it has on Burstlam's Odexed ROM.

Did you have 16 bit transparency enabled in your previous rom? It's on by default in burstlam's (not sure about the recent nightlies), but that gives CM7 a noticable performance boost - not massive, but, well, noticable.

Ooh! Something new. Says it's Gingerbread. I'll have to compile me a new version whilst eating lunch!

can you later upload only this dialer with t9 as zip package for cwm ?

As well as T9, you can also now disable the boot animation. Note there's nothing in its place. Just a black screen. But damn it boots fast!!

Couple of bugs in the T9 dialer. If you press the area where the T9 obtained name will appear before having entered any numbers, the dialer will crash.

The tops of the numbers you are dialing are also cut off on our screens. <- Fixed now.

There's also a gapps on the page containing the new market 3.44 in case anyone like me is too lazy to flash gapps and then install an app. :D

I've never looked into how to make cwm zips but someone else is welcome to nick it from the rom and do it if you so desire.

thanks.

But i am using burstlam's version

which has patch for 2 way call recording = Program like skvalex callrecorder can record stream/voice in and out implemented inside system, not have to use mic but directly.

So how can i take from your rom t9 dialer and option to disable boot animation and insert it into burstlam's zip rom file ?

thanks.

I'm not sure but I assume you can just replace contacts.apk. Either in the rom and reflash it or using a root file explorer (remember to set the permissions as they were) and rebooting.

You can disable the boot animation in build prop: debug.sf.nobootanimation=1

Not sure about adding the option as there were framework changes as well as cmparts.apk

Sorry I deleted it and recompiled it with 2 patches (and their dependencies) to fix the T9 dialler issues. It's re-uploading and will be back in 20 minutes. I'll update when it's there.

[edit]

It's uploaded now.

shouldn't it be the Phone.apk (instead of Contacts.apk)? edit: that would be responsible for the t9 dialer

@burstlam - I assume I dont need to factory reset before installing this over your previous (7.2.0-RC0, the first one) ROM? Could you please confirm?

no need~ wipe dalvik cache in Recovery should be enough
