"No SIM card" / "Please insert a SIM card"

Phone: Samsung Nexus S, version: Android 2.3.4

Problem: After dropping phone in water a week ago, the phone cannot detect SIM card. The SIM card works fine in another phone. Other SIM cards cannot be detected by the phone either.

Have tried hard reset - didn't work.

Please help anyone? Thanks in advance.
