Guest RedNick
On page 4 of this UK magazine, it trumpets the launch of the OMC and declares that the device has a 1GHz processor up from the originally planned 800MHz. This could, of course, be total rubbish but it'd be interesting to use something like Android System Info to establish if/when anyone receives a 1GHz model. Guest john.smith
Wouldn't be surprised if it really has a 1GHz (which it should!) in the future. There's U880 in China, which is a CDMA version of ZTE Blade (known as V880 there) but comes with a 800MHz processor. So yeah, 1GHz + 4.3" screen rocks if they still sells at 150 quid.... and I bet they don't?! Guest Roph
There isn't one really, it's just that suppliers who currently have skates (clove, etc) are abusing their position to jack the price up, since at the moment there is no competition. Guest unrandomsam
Problem is its useless even an early armv7 at 600mhz would be much faster. the speed increase from 600->800 was very poor and its likely to be even worse from 800->1000
Guest unrandomsam
The planned price for the 1ghz version is £229 Thats far too much : Same price you can get either a Huawei U8800 (If you can find one) HTC Desire (From orange shop (if you don't care about true multitouch) or Sim Free Defy from Expansys (Thats just off the top of my head) Should have quit armv6 at 600mhz instead of flogging the dead horse. Totally agree, every one of those phones beats the Skate, as even at the proposed 1ghz speed, its just a 7227-Turbo Arm 6
Guest RedNick
As the OP in this thread I should like to clarify: Yes, I meant a paper magazine - I'm kind of old fashioned and still buy physical publications. Must be my age! I was unaware of any attack site of similar name and most certainly had no intention of directing other forum users to malware-infected sites. Regarding the phone, I was aware that ZTE were releasing the handset without operator branding at 1GHz for (the mental price of) £229 but the article clearly states the Orange branded version is 1GHz as of the present time. This is the point I am seeking confirmation of. I was unaware, however, that this would still be ARMv6. If this is the case, the OMC/ZTE Skate is obsolete at launch and off my shortlist for when the OSF no longer meets my needs.

It is Snapdragon S2 (45nm ARMv7 with Adreno 205).
