We've heard rumours of Acer's upcoming family of tablets and now we're getting details. The folks over at nomobile.ru (translated from Russian) have got their hands on two new models, the A200 and the A700. These tablets follow on from this year’s A100 and A500 which have been relatively unpopular with consumers so far.

Looking at the specs of the A200 you could easily mistake it for the original A500 - it carries a Tegra 2 chip and 1280x800 screen at 10.1 inches, running Android 3.2 (but possibly with an upgrade to Android 4.0 by February). All that makes it stand out from its competitors is the full sized USB port found behind to a port cover (also present on the A500).

Now we move on to the main event, the A700. This tablet is said to feature NVidia’s new Quad Core chip - the Tegra 3, as well as finally bumping up the resolution for a 10.1 inch tablet to a ‘Full HD’ worthy 1920x1200. This equates to a wonderful 224 DPI, which is higher than the Galaxy S II. This tablet also looks nicer and is better designed than its sibling, as well as somehow containing a larger battery in a thinner device. The only sacrifice on this tablet is that it is missing the full size USB port of the A200.
