Huawei are obliged to release source,but not how long they have to share it for!

I just tried to download it and its coming as service temp. unavailable. you might have to make a mirror of it

I got that the first two times I tried but then it worked on the third. Probably due to high volume of people downloading it.

I have compiled the sources "as-is" and surprisingly that went well. And still it doesn't work to fire up ICS... Do any of you know what the prerequisites are, kernel wise, for ICS? Do we really need a 3.0+ kernel because of support for specific Android feature A or B? Most of the Qualcomm devices are using a 3.0.8 kernel. I wonder why...

I'll try to see how much work it will be to port the device specific changes to a newer kernel. Taking the U8860 3.0.8 kernel as a base for instance

Tilal has cm9 on skate without 3.0 kernel maybe he would be able to give you more detail.
