Installation Instructions:

  • First time user
  • Download the ROM, and put it on your SD card
  • Boot into recovery
  • Wipe data/factory reset
  • Wipe cache partition
  • Choose zip and then choose the rom
  • Reboot
  • If using TWRP, do not allow it to fix root if it prompts you to. Root is fine on this ROM.
    • If coming from another version of Lightning ROM
    • Wipe cache
    • Wipe Dalvik cache
    • Choose zip and then choose the ROM
    • Reboot

    Smoothness Tweak Remover

If you have more slowdowns compared to the other Lightning releases, it might be due to the smoothness tweak. FAQ

Q: Will I still have my 'Link2int' apps after an OTA update?

A: No, as the OTA update will remove Link2int and 'may' wipe the internal storage. If you are brave enough, you can try the update anyway, but I can't guarantee Link2Int still being there after it's done.

Q: The OTA update wont download! What's the problem?

A: My OTA servers are based on Solidfiles, so if Solidfiles doesn't work for you, the OTA update wont work either.

Q: I cant download any of the addons as they are all uploaded to Solidfiles! Do you have a mirror?

A: I sure do, HERE you go. The zip itself is not flashable, but it's contents are. The zip contains most of the addons available for Lightning!

Q: How can I send MMS messages without enabling data?

A: You need to change this in build.prop from false to true

    ro.config.hw_always_allow_mms=false
Q: How do I remove that annoying "WiFi disconnected" message? A: You need to change this in build.prop from true to false
    ro.config.hw_remindwifitopdp=true
The XDA thread is HERE if you need more information about it.

Q: What do the Lightning ROM wallpapers look like?

    A: They look like this:

PCTechRoss has also made some new wallpapers, and they look awesome. Expect to see them in a newer release of Lightning ROM!

HI,

I got an error when rebooting from CWM, something to do with root/SU. I clicked back and didnt read all unfortunately. I imagine its related to what you have put in the OP.

Seems really quick based on these first few minutes of use. Ill let you know how it goes.

You need to download Super-SU from the play store. Its free:

I will update the OP so everyone is aware. Can you confirm working root?

Yes, root is working.

Recomendation for your next release would be to use the toggles, messaging, clock and home from the Huawei P1 apps.

The messaging and home are really smooth on this.

OK, thanks for the ideas. I might just make a flashable zip for the P1 apps as I dont think everyone wants them.

The phone app opens fast as all the apps are zipaligned. There isn't any lag when opening built in apps. The JB transitions are also smooth :). Make a nandroid backup of your current ROM and try this out, so you can see for yourself. All of the G300's vary in performance.

yep

Okay, thanks. I'll make a flashable zip for you right now, and I may add the toolbox.apk to the 2nd release of this ROM if it has good toggles.

EDIT: I'm uploading the flashable zip for you now. It contains:

HwLauncher6.apk

HwMessage.apk

HwDeskClock.apk

HwToolBox.apk

If the toggles work, could you post a screenshot for me :). Power button + Volume down lets you take a sceenshot.

Uploaded ^_^ HERE is the link
