/data and /system are full

My wife's phone is running a stock ICS build, and it's running out of internal storage. I've "moved to SD Card" as many apps as I can, but this is what ADB had to say:

Is there any way to split up the space in a more sensible fashion? Would a different ROM fix it, or is the partitioning scheme lower-level than that?

Use an app to clean up the phone, SD Maid could maybe do it, but get the full version, it cleans the sd card of useless data and the system of the phone.

Is the phone giving you error messages like "Running out of memory"? 

or apps going slow or crashing?

I'm running a stock rom and df gives me the same as you except

I have all my downloaded apps on a 32G sdcard with my music, maps, etc

I find I have to reboot once or twice a month to clear cruft and sluggishness

The last line in your listing shows an app putting data in /mnt/asec/

I have the same second data line as yours, ie /mnt/asec    193M     0K   193M  4096

but I have 27 apps with entries like your last line, totalling 280M 228M 29M 512

 

Go figure...

I had much same problem. Look under development for the Supercharge your g300 thread and install the zips - it worked for me.

Also I googled for titanium pro 6.1.0 and got a free one;-) This lets you integrate system updates into your rom. I doubled my free internal storage!!!

Cheers for the titanium pro pointer: That will fix the problem I suspect. Although I'll stick to paying for it: dodgy provenance and root access is an unpleasant combination...

Force2SD also works too. It is paid, but it is really simple. You just tap the app, press yes, and it moves it! 

You could also try a swapped ROM like Joestone's CM Build.
