I'm another one who can't get the play store to work. Tried installing a phonesky.apk but it wouldn't parse. Then tried copying it to system/app, but that didn't work either.

Not sure if the phonesky.apk was the right version as I couldn't find it in the gapps zip so downloaded one off xda.

Also drive crashes unless WiFi is turned off.

Came from 10.2 with full wipes, any ideas?

Edit: found the phonesky.apk in the gapps zip, extracted it and installed it but the play store isn't working still

Problems I had so far:

1. no launcher

2. no connection in google play

3. can't move apps to sd

4. video play issues (youtube, internal video player, ...)

5. browser lag

6. unstable with enabled ART

 

Solutions that worked for me:

1. and 2. install rom after full wipes and then install gapps from here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxncMcwoIqptRm1MREl3YlBMd0E&usp=sharing#list

 

3. Using Link2Int from here http://www.modaco.com/topic/359125-mod-link2int-v11-use-2gb-internal-as-app-storage-tested-with-cm9cm10cm101-0312/?hl=%20link2int but you should check "Use external SD as primary' in Storage options and update Link2SD on google play after flashing zip (one in zip is not 4.4 compatible)

 

4. fixed in 20131212 nightly

 

5. use Opera and wait for fix

 

6. stay on dalvik and wait for fix

 

Missing:

1. no torch shortcut in quick settings panel (missing so much :)

2. no overclocking

 

Conclusion: rom is definitely good enough for everyday use.

I have the translucent notification bar, I just went to >/>system>build.prop and changed "ro.config.low_ram=true" to "ro.config.low_ram=false" using the CM file explorer / Editor and restarted the phone.

 

 

It stopped working for me too so I restored my old backup and installed CM11 again without wipes and it's working again.

Can't make it worked on latest nightly, I have tried with stripped gapps and one from xda

Videos is fixed in latest build, but YT is still pixellited, so I recommend to use Viral Pro for YouTube - is much better - videos aren't pixellited and plays smooth.

It works in both original google launcher and Launcher 3 but not in Nova launcher, my favorite :(

okay , i am in a crisis, i flashed with all wipes and everything, i do a reset factory , wipe cache, wipe data, install the rom and install the gapps, the it started normally, but the launcher never apeared and the sistem UI crashed, so i try to do a wipe cache and wipe data and re install the rom and gapps, the it got into a loop in the starting applications so the only way to turn it off was to take the batery out, when i tried to boot the phone again nothing happened and nothing still happens. I don't know yours but mine if you took and put again the batery it boots aumatically, but if i do that i can't enter to the CWM , and it gets stuck on the loop of the boot animation.

 I NEED HELP URGENTLY, PLEASE.

anyway thanks, and sorry for my english, especially now that i am in a crisis

 

 

          NEVERMIND, I  DON'T KNOW HOW, I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT I MADE IT, I MADE IT TO GET INTO THE CWM, so now i'm gonna try to restore my backup of the first nightly(the only one that worked well for me) and if that dosn't ends working well i'm gonna use again 4.3 until 4.4 gets more stable.

I know that, just want to try it and the results are not bad at all, I think the problem with Hynix is just a bad batch of it, also my model its for the 850Mhz band (Argentina) maybe Hynix mems are good on this ones, don't know

I Just flash it as regular, wipes etc.. (sorry for my bad english)

For those who had problems with play store or launcher. What I did to get those working: Restored backup from different rom where everything was working (no mather what rom but I restored ICS rom and not earlier nightly). Then full wipes and then flashed newest nightly and full wipes again and then flashed those striped gapps from first post and full wipes again (I don't know is it important to do so many wipes but I did). Then everything was working.

 

 

Sorry if those instructions were already told.

Gapps in the first post has been updated. If you install the 4.4 with it, you don't need these steps anymore. Just wipe/format everything and install the latest nightly and the gapps from first post.

Search bar doesn't work because the gapps doesn't contain the google search app.

If you install it from Play Store, it should be work.

Or you can hide it if you don't use it.

 

WiFi hotspot doesn't work and it is a known "bug".
