Lenovo A806 bought from HK needs rooting/romming

Just to explain I bought a Lenovo A806 5-inch 4G FDD-LTE MTK6592+6290 Octa-core Smartphone also known as Golden Warrior from Hong Kong. Despite being bought from the Chinese market it has Google Play Store installed but it also has Mobomarket and other apps I'd rather not have which cannot be removed with normal deletion methods.

 

I have discovered a variety of sites and programs which provide both Rooting and Mod options including Kingroot. I contacted a specific site offering Rom upgrades and messaged someone who told me that any of these mods http://www.needrom.com/category/lenovo/serial-a/serial-a800/a806/ would be OK to use

 

In fact the guy ( or girl) went as far to say "Reply : Hi Now you've the choice here http://www.needrom.com/category/lenovo/serial-a/serial-a800/a806/ you can installed MIUI, Lewa, Vibe, i can't say for you ( ROM is rooted ) search on youtube rom MIUI or lewa etc..."

 

As a real newbie can I ask two simple questions ?

 

1. Rooting programs/software. Which ones would you people recommend ?

2. I assume Rooting has to be performed before any of those mods in the link above can be used, as there is mention of "(ROM is rooted) in that message ?

 

The phone runs 4.4.2. I have a build number if needed ?
