Guest PaulOBrien
In a post on the official Gmail blog, Google have announced Reminders for Google Calendar. Starting this week, you can create Reminders in Google Calendar to keep track of your to-dos alongside your scheduled events. This video gives a great introduction to the functionality: The best feature of Reminders is that they don't disappear into your history - they stick around until they are marked as completed. So long as you haven't marked a reminder as done, it will appear at the top of your calendar every day. When it's done? Just swipe it away and it'll be gone. Reminders are smart, as you'd expect as part of Google Calendar. Numbers, addresses, contact information - it can all be automatically populated for you. They are not limited to Google Calendar however - they can be created from Inbox, Keep and Google Now too although, ironically bearing in mind they were announced on the Gmail blog... apparently not from plain old Gmail! Reminders will be rolling out this week with the latest versions of Calendar on the Play and App Stores, as well as coming to the web in the near future.
