I think this is the best upgrade I have had yet.

I used to have a 6210 and used it in conjunction with my Jornada 548.

The SPV making both these little puppies redundant, so after giving my 6210 away to a friend and selling my 548 on eBay for about £185 and buying the SPV at £99, in all in all I have made a £86 profit, half of which has gone towards my new 128 SD card.

Can you confirm that you managed to get an SPV as an upgrade on an OVP Virgin contract? Or am I reading your post wrong?

BTW, how long had you been connected under OVP?

I was told by my Orange shop the other day that upgrading on OVP Virgin will be no problem.  However when I went in today to pickup my phone, they rang Orange CS and were told that I'll need to change tariffs a) to upgrade and to get the GPRS tariff.  So I've changed to OVP Freetime 750 and can't get my phone until this "change" takes place (Dec 4).

Shame   Had a good look at the phone today - was well gutted I couldn't get it today, as it looks brilliant.  Much smaller than I thought.

I was on ED50 for over a year, changed to OVP Virgin earlier this year.

If you get £50 off for trading in a 6210 then you are very lucky. The should not be offered!!

The most trade in is £20 for your old handset off your next bill. If it does work tell us which orange shop did it!!!!!

Looks like I might have to try the orange shop for mine - just got an email from the mobileshop saying it may now up till the end of NEXT week before they get thiers!

Most Orange Shops in Berks/Bucks (and probably everywhere else too) are in short supply.  My local shop had just 4 of them delivered last week.  Still suffering from the stolen Heathrow-batch

I have just rung up the Southampton orange shop and they have said they have spenty in stock and also will give me £50 back for the 6210 I have. I'm going to go in tommorow afternoon and sort it rather than wait for the mobileshop to sort them selves out and also have a second number

I thought Orange Gatherings (the SMS based community) was fantastic, but the trial ended (I provided my feedback when they called) and I never heard anything again

I wonder what happened to it? I guess they canned it?

I remember when Orange Imagineering took them under their wing to provide flat rate SMS, then royally shafted them

Does anyone else think that Locust could be resurrected using a GPRS based send / receive mechanism instead of SMS?

The best thing about locust was the way to meet new people through the chat channels, interest channels etc.

I whiled away many a bored hour signed in to 'XChat' (I think it was called), where you just hung out and chatted to random people.

There were some great foreign SMSCs that worked for ages, then some that would survive an hour before being killed by all the traffic.
