OK GUYS I HAVE WM2003 WORKING ON MY MPX200 IN ENGLISH!

(Credit to Lutzh for the original post)

OK HERE IS THE PROCESS.

FIRSTLY DOWNLOAD THE ROM FROM http://www.msmobiles.com/news.php/2780.html

There is a link half way down the page.

Update the ROM onto the phone. First time i installed it - it froze on the opening screen. So complete a hard reset by keeping the Blue button pressed and power button. A prompt to reset the phone will appear - click yes and perform a hard reset.

OK once this is done, WM2003 should kick into action.

You will notice that it is in German!

Install Registry Editor (available from Monolithix's site)

Goto:

1. download PHM RegEdit (cab), install it

2. go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEMUIAvailable]

3. add "0409"="US English"

4. restart

(thanks to nahh (modaco member) for this tip)

and there you have it! WM2003 on your MPX200!

It works great and it is already application unlocked - not tried a different sim to see if it network unlocked!

Brilliant!

I would like to install it, but i would lose my Italian T9 dictionary, and the Italian ROM image...

Is there a way to dump the rom i have now for backup?

Thanx

I keep getting the message;

Bad News! Upgrading Motorola MPx200 has failed

Please re-upgrade the Mobile or Contact the Service Provider

There's a shame.

Ok Guys.

I hacve loaded the rom, installed PHM. Add the value 0409 and the value data US English.

Switched the phone off then back on again, but still seems to be in German.... Any ideas where I have gone wrong ?

I have also removed the German values from teh registry too.

Cheers

Steve

If you want to save your old personal T9 file, Copy the file mst9.udb from the ISPM/Application Data/System/ to your PC. Flash and move it back to /Storage/Application Data/System/mst9.udb and you should preserve your personal T9 data.
