What can you say.... It's strange that this is working.

Since there is some kind of electronics inside the battery, could it be that the phone communicate with the battery during an upgrade/hard reset and by doing this tell the battery that "- Now you are fully charged. Here is your upper limit mate!"?

Just a wild guess like all the others.....

Here's how I did it:

PLEASE NOTE:

This instructions is for the Qtek 8080 with ROM 1.9.14.1.

1.

Remove any SD-card

2.

Put the phone on charge without the cradle (just the standard charger)

3.

Keep an eye on the phone and when the LED turns green, let the phone be as-is. Don't dissconnect the charger. Keep charging for about 60-90 min.

4.

Now, turn off your device

5.

Hold the camera-button and turn on the unit

6.

You'll get a gray screen (on the Qtek at least)

7.

Press AND HOLD the joystick for about 2-3 sec until you get some kind of system menu where you can select something indicating that the OS will be reinstalled

8.

Wait until the unit restarts and it should all be done.

You can find another guide here.

Please note:

You hard reset your device on your own risc!

(it also worked on on my mpx200 as well)

They claim it does. However, I have NOT tested it on any MPX-devices, so I can't really tell. Guess it wont do any harm anyway. But you need to back-up all your data before the hard reset.

Might give it a go once I see how long this current charge lasts for.

But what do you need to backup? You mean contacts etc or anything you want to keep?

Other than that the only thing I can think of is you might mean back up your MMS or GPRS settings, I dont know how to do that, but can always get them from the Teleco provider.

That what your reffering too, or do I need to back up something specific?

Everybody claims that you need to back-up your device before hard reset, but I never did it...

If you are using extra e-mail accounts, SMS, MMS and other things like games and whatnot....

But I guess you have copies of all your installed apps. But just keep in mind, doing a hard reset clear you device and clear all your stored data. Basically set it as it was from the first time you laid your hands on it;-)
