Anyone else waiting in line to get this phone? And, does anyone know if the Krusell case for the C500 will work with this phone (as the SP3i has a joystick, not a joypad)? Counting down the days.... I was definately going to get either a C500 or the SP3i, I preferred the SP3i look and also the joystick so pre-ordered it. Even the i-Mate site says the SP3i is "coming soon". I hope it's released within 10 days as I've just put my T610 on eBay, and I don't want to be stuck without a phone..! Guest ThatTree Posted November 14, 2004 Report Share Posted November 14, 2004 The Krusell case is not great for the C500 and may be a problem on the SP3i. The cutout for the C500 rocker is tiny; using it, or using buttons near the top, can cause the tight plastic cover to flex and cause other keys to be pressed. Â The delay has been at source with i-mate as our first delivery was expected last week. Â The items are currently in customs but we should be able to despatch them by the end of this week. I really was holding a candle of hope to get an SP3i with the 850 band as I've heard great things about Club-imate support and I prefered the silver finish to the Audiovox. But it looks like the 850 band of this phone will be coming out very s-l-o-w-l-y. Other thoughts to share for anyone interested in the US version of the C500 (whether Audiovox or SP3i): * If you want the Audiovox, you might want to hurry. AT&T pulled the phone yesterday and is now only offering the Audiovox through Amazon.com or if you call their customer service line and specifically ask for it. Seems that with the merger, they are only carrying the stock of phones that Cingular offers and, as of yet, Cingular does not stock this phone. * I wrote away to the iMate folks and received the below response on the SP3i with the 850 band. Please note that I've also contacted Expansys-USA and they shared with me that they have no plans to stock the 850 band of this phone, so the information below seems to be dated and limited to only one of the two mentioned merchants: Dear Sirs, Thank you for writing in and for your interest in i-mate devices. Guest shk718 Posted November 16, 2004 Report Share Posted November 16, 2004 i just called expansys in the US they said they were expecting a shipment of sp3i's 11/15 (yesterday) but it never arrived - and as of today 11/16 they still didn't have it. i've been waiting a month for this stupid phone. the only reason i want it is because i think it will be better for gaming with the joy stick. i'm wondering if i should continue waiting or buy the sp3. i hate making life altering decisions such as these. It's not like I plan on sitting down and playing games all day long anyway. It's too small of a factor for me to continue waiting and waiting. He said that the phones will be ready for dispatch on wednesday... Not sure whether he means tomorrow, or next wednesday (hell, could be a wednesday in december!) Still, I'm gonna pre-order mine tonight and see what happens...
